TL-191: After the End

What became of these notable Canadians from OTL, or at the very least their families?

Wayne Gretzky
Stephen Harper
Rene Levesque
Alanis Morrisette
William Shatner
Jean Chretien
Avril Lavigne

And I remember you stating that Pierre Trudeau didn’t exist ITTL, still does an analogue to the Trudeau family exist ITTL?

Would you be willing to state some? I am mostly curious about:

Germany
Italy
Brazil
Austria-Hungary

By 2023, the ruler of the German Empire is Kaiser Wilhelm V. He is also the official head of state of most member countries of the German Economic Association.

-
By 2023, the ruler of the Austro-Hungarian Empire is Emperor Charles II. He also reigns as King Charles V of Hungary, King Charles V of Croatia-Slavonia, and King Charles IV of Bohemia.

-
By 2023, the ruler of the Empire of Brazil is Emperor Alexandre I.

-
By 2023, the ruler of the Italian Empire is King Umberto IV.

When and how did the treatment of Canadians change for the better post sgw?

After the end of the Second Great War, the administrations of President Thomas Dewey and President Harry Truman decided that a new approach was needed for Occupied Canada, after the destructive anti-US revolts. The strategic goal of the US government during the first generation after the end of the Second Great War was to end the military occupation of the former Dominion of Canada and to admit the former Canadian provinces as states.

This postwar shift in US government policy coincided with a shift in popular attitudes towards the United States among the population of the former Dominion of Canada. It was less of a popular embrace of US rule and more of a general resignation that the political independence of Canada would never be restored. This public resignation to US rule in postwar Occupied Canada was reinforced by the military defeat of the British and French at the end of the Second Great War, along with the fall of the CSA.

The late 1940s and early 1950s was a time of intense political negotiations between representatives from the US government and the Committee for the Constitution, a Canadian organization d that called for the end of US military rule and its replacement with normal civilian governments in the former provinces through their admission to the Union as states and their ratification of the U.S. Constitution. The Committee for the Constitution was comprised of representatives from across Occupied Canada. These postwar negotiations proved to be successful. The long US military occupation of the former Dominion of Canada was brought to an end in the 1950s and 1960s, as the former Canadian provinces were admitted into the Union as states.

@David bar Elias Can you please explain which bases on the Moon and Mars map the U.S.A. turned into New Liberty States and how many? As well as where the other powers turned their bases into provinces. The powers being (Brazilian/Chinese/Russian/US-led) Liberty Space Alliance (LSA) and the (Austro-Hungarian/Bharati/Congolese/German-led) Eurasia-Africa Space Combine (EASC).

@David bar Elias this might be asking much but what are the top 10 most developed and top 10 least developed countries ITTL? And where do Great Powers like America, Germany, Austria-Hungary, China, Bharat, Brazil, Congo, and Russia stand?

Wayne Gretzky, Stephen Harper, Rene Lévesque, Alanis Morrisette, William Shatner, Jean Chrétien, and Avril Lavigne don’t exist in TTL.

There are analogues to the Chrétien, Lavigne, and Lévesque families living in the Republic of Quebec by 2023, although no one from these families is involved in politics or music.

There is an analogue to the Harper family living in Ontario by 2023. Most members of the extended Harper family are involved in different businesses. No one from the Harper family is involved in politics.

There are distant analogues to the Shatner and Gretzky families by 2023, with most members of both families living in Ontario. There isn’t an analogue to the Morrisette family in TTL.

There is an analogue to the Trudeau family living in the Republic of Quebec by 2023. No one from the Trudeau family is involved in politics in TTL.
