He meant something different to what you thought he meant.
There's no way I could make a geology map right now (I'm struggling to get anything done at all at the moment), with this map it would however be realistically possible.
EDIT: I sent you something, it's not exactly what you were looking for but it should help a bit.

The Koppen is still not uniform, so I still think you should.
