Hello dear readers! i am a big fan of viking age scandinavian and british history.
and after a while spent on the forum i have not found many viking age TLs lurking around. so i have decided to write one myself.
The subject is Harald Greycloack king of norway and one of the last pagan rulers of that country. So here we go!
965 AD:
after defeating Gudrød Bjørnsson king of vestfold who was his cousin and last opponent for the control of norway, in order to consoledate his rule over the land and to prevent the exile son of Gudrød prince Harald from gaining allies in the future
king Harald greycloack decides to marry Ragnhild eldest daughter of jarl Ulf one of king Gudrød's main supporters (1).
(both father and daughter are fictional since there isin't alot of information on members of the norwegan aristocracy of the period)
The wedding is scheduled to take place the for the following spring.
(1): the first point of divergance is king harald marryeng a local woman to gain allies which is why i needed to invent her.
in OTL we dont have any mention of this
