I won as Bryan by like 500 votes in Ohio.
A self sabotage of Lincoln, no electoral college win, although Douglas got very close.
Douglas beat Lincoln in Maine by 80 votes!!
That feeling when you do better than 99.4% of all players with your candidate and difficulty level... and you forgot to log in.
No, I have no idea how I pulled this off.
The luckiest game I've ever seen. Nixon/Rockefeller in 1960.
Maryland- Nixon +0.00004% (54 votes!)
New York- Nixon +0.06%
Oklahoma- Nixon +0.18%
New Jersey- Nixon +0.30%
Hawaii- Nixon +0.54%
Nevada- Nixon +0.68%
Illinois- Nixon +0.80%
These states had a combined 111 EV. A mere 0.4% of the PV made the difference between a landslide victory and a loss.
Won Alaska while losing Hawaii as Kennedy in 1960.
Nixon 332 electoral Votes, Kennedy 191 electoral Votes.
Not quite as close but still some very narrow state wins for Nixon.
New Jersey-Nixon +0.5% (13,645 votes) 16 Electoral Votes
Maryland-Nixon + 0.68% (7,277 votes) 9 Electoral Votes
West Virginia-Nixon+ 1.92% (15,415 votes) 8 Electoral Votes
Illinois-Nixon + 2.08% (55,554 votes) 27 Electoral Votes
California-Nixon+2.38% (162,106 votes) 55 Electoral Votes
These five states had a combined 115 EV and once again the difference between a semi-landslide and a defeat.
Embracing the Lily-white Republicans as McKinley can lead to strange results.
I ran as Nixon in 1960 but with a stronger civil rights cred, and I won 323-200 (and the popular vote as 49.59 to 49.89). I won: Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Florida, Michigan, and Minnesota. I lost the popular vote by 186,224 votes.
Any advice for 1916?
As Hughes, go anti-war and moderate to slightly progressive on everything else. As Wilson, be progressive but not too progressive.
I'm trying that and losing for Wilson.
Stay supportive of preparation and the right for ships to travel in the war zones. Attack the German-Americans.
Played as Bush/Powell. 290-248 but lost the popular vote. Came within 7,000 votes of winning Tennessee, Pennsylvania by 31,000 votes, and within 1,900 votes of winning Michigan.
For the buggy question in 968 where the main candidates get the Wallace questions on who to primarily target, do your answers actually affect anything?
Playing 2000 as Gore on normal feels way harder than it needs to be. Any tips for a good campaign strategy?
Well, this is awkward, I'm still not entirely sure how I did it.
What did it give you for the end screen?
The generic "you lost" text but with a missing image.
