    A Sultan’s defeat
  • On a certain date in the late 1400s and the beginning of the 1500s, the Bruneians led by Nakhoda Ragam Bolkiah, Sultan of Brunei would be defeated in their attempt to sack Tondo and Tondo would continue to be the hub of trade of China with the Malay Archipelago, the Pasig Channel or Pasig River.

The Island of Selurong or Lucon to the Portuguese would be affected by the turbulence of the issues of the last Majapahit Emperors Brawijaya VI and Brawijaya VII(Prabu Udara) and the Portuguese would enter the ports of Tondo and Caboloan and establish their factories as well during that time that was until 1528 when the last Emperor of Majapahit, Brawijaya VII would be defeated by the ruler of Demak ending the Majapahit Empire that the records about Majapahit and Selurong would be known despite the Portuguese factories continuing to exist, the formation of Selurong or the Tagarug Kingdom would be anyone’s guess as the Kingdom of Selurong would be not known after the end of Majapahit Empire in 1528 until the Spanish would contact them and majority of the history was just folk tales.

    The marriage of Maddalena
  • On 1535, on the death of Francesco II of Milan, the two daughters of Francesco, Maddalena(1520) and Margherita(1523) of Milan with their mother, Isabella of France b. 1499 d. 1524 also dead would fear of their fate and Maddalena would begin on their marriage negotiations, her choices were: the widower, Charles V or his own son, Philip, the son duke of Savoy, her cousin, Charles of France, and the Duke of Montferrat, Boniface V.

Boniface V of Montferrat would appear in the court of Maddalena of Milan supported by the Fuggers and Francis I of France who already remarried to his eldest sister.

Boniface V of Montferrat would be able to marry Maddalena on 1535 because of his promise to retake the lands taken by Venice, the wedding would be done after the proposal of Boniface V of Montferrat and thus begins the Palaiologos dynasty of Milan.

  • Maddalena’s marriage with Boniface V of Montferrat would secure an alliance with the French and the Spanish, Maddalena would have a surviving daughter named Claudia(1545) and a son named Giovanni(1552), Maddalena and Boniface V of Montferrat with the help of France would regain the lands stolen from them by the Venetians and on the death of Mary I of England, she would her daughter Claudia to Philip II of Spain to secure an alliance against the Venetians.

Maddalena would marry her sister, Margherita to successively to the heirs of Savoy, Louis, Prince of Piedmont and Emmanuel Philibert and her two marriages would produce only one living son Charles Emmanuel of Savoy(1562).

    The Great Matter
  • On 1518, Catherine of Aragon would die after giving birth to a daughter who was christened as Catherine of England after her death, on 1519, Henry VIII would remarry to Marguerite of Angouleme who was known for her liberal views, she would only have a single daughter survive named Margaret in May 10 1528 and Margaret of Angouleme would die in 1529, causing Henry VIII to remarry again, this time to a Charlotte of France in 1532, a younger sister of Louise of France, Queen of Scotland, the bride of Henry VIII’s nephew, Charlotte would give birth to a son named Edward, Prince of Wales.

Due to Henry VIII lacking heirs he would cancel a betrothal of Mary of England to Francis III, Duke of Brittany and replaced it with his other daughter, Catherine of England.

On 1535, John I of Portugal would end up being widowed by his first wife, Catherine of Austria, his first wife would die and he would remarry to Catherine of England and sent his sister, Maria of Viseu to marry Francis III, duke of Brittany, the future Francis II of France, however, the marriage with Catherine of England would be in vain as the only male offspring that she would provide is Joao Manuel(1537) and a daughter named Maria(Dec. 10, 1542).

On the death of Maria Manuela of Portugal on 1546, Phillip, Prince of Asturias would remarry to Mary of England.
