Peshawar Lancers Redux: Latin America

The Eruption in the Central American Republic caused concern in both that country and in Hawaii.The explosion was of considerable distance away from the American Canal but it was not that far away from the border with Mexico.
Neuva Granada had also started to receive advice from the Hawaii and on how to complete the Canal in Panama. In addition an agreement had been signed to sell the two old Battleships to them.
 
Relations between Hawaii and Neuva Granada had continued to improve. The Hawaiians got a large amount of oil from the country and the royalties paid by the Royal Hawaiian Petroleum Corporation had helped to fund improvements throughout the country.
 
There were reports of some earthquakes in South America. Hawaii was hlping the Central American Republic with its recovery.
 
Brazil had been busy increasing its industrial base and was about to authorize design work on a Dreadnough type Battle ship. The ship would not be started for another 6 years but it would be the first Capital ship to be built in Brazil. Hawaiian Companies were designing and would construct parts for the engine to be assemble in Brazil.
 
1907 The Brazilian Ambassador sent a copy of the new history book to the Emperor written by the Hawaiian Prime Minister. He also said that he suspected that the Prime Minister would be retiring soon from Public life
The result was that the Emperor arrange to visit Hawaii
 
Brazil's Monarch arrived in Hawaii on an offical state visit. There would be an offical Dinner at the Palace and one at the Brazilian Embassy to honor the former Prime Minister of Hawaii. The Brazilian Emperor had made the gesture to honor his friend and to show that the Empire of Brazil valued the warm relations between its two people. He extended an invitation for the new Prime Minister to visit Brazil. He also had a long talk with the Secretary of State.
 
Brazil's Ambassador met with the leader of the opposition to see what The Liberal Party's position would be in foreign affairs. The Party seemed to be willing to reassure Brazil that the special relations with that country would not change.
 
Brazil's Emperor had had a private conversation with the retired Prime Minister and he was reassured that he believed that both Political parties would continue to maintain a special relationship with both Brazil and the British Empire. William Kamehameha however believed that the Liberal Party would not spend enough money on defense and Foreign Aid would be much less.
 
Hawaiian Intelligence Agents with members of the Royal Hawaiian Constabulary's Special Investigation Unit helped the Imperial Brazil State Police prevent an assassination attempt on the Emperor. The also helped to undercover a plot to rob several banks to fund Anarchist activities.

The election of a National Conservative government in Hawaii sent a reassuring message to Hawaii's allies. Both Brazil and Neuva Granada were now confident that any agreements with Hawaii would be upheld
 
The Hawaiian Secretary of State arrived in Neuva Granada as part of a tour of Latin America to sign new trade agreements and to reassure Friends and allies. The trade agreement signed with the country resolved some issues regarding the Petroleum industry in the country. He next visited Peru and signed a trade agreement before moving on to Brazil. Brazil was Hawaii's largest trading partner in Latin America and its closes friend. The agreements signed included an arms sale as well as a commerce agreement.
 
The American President Elect met with the Mexican Governor General and the Mexican Speaker of the house to discuss issues of concern to both nations.
 
Hawaii's Prime Minister was going to be making a trip to Latin America. He would visit the Empire of Brazil, Chile, Neuva Granada , Central American Republic, Jamaica and Mexico. His goal was to insure good relations with all of the nations. The Assistant Secretary of State William Lee Parker would be traveling with the Prime Minister as would Captain Paul Lau Royal Hawaiian Navy his military aide.
