Look, CalBear, i understand your commitment to prevent this site from going toxic.
But, as of late, i perceive thay you've been threatening people who have utilized memes that just happen to also be used by the alt-right, even when these memes are not even being used in a malicious or offensive way. Heck, there were already people pointing out the offensive factor in that Trump map before you came!
Of most important note, the guy who posted such Trump map put a very noticeable disclaimer that the map's ideologies do not reflect the ideologies of the poster.
I mean, come on, man. Just raise your bar a bit.

He posted that African American culture EQUALS crime.

Posted it, clear as day.

That wasn't a PDF file that he copied, the text was just that, plain text. He could have edited that bit out in five seconds (10 if he added a explanation for why the sentence was incomplete). He CHOSE to leave it as was, didn't make any comment until he started getting push back. Even then he didn't go back and edit HIS OWN POST (which he could have done very easily).

Maybe he was 100% opposed to that comment. Don't know. Maybe he was 100% in agreement. Don't know. What I do know is that the member, not some other guy, the member, posted it. You post something on a Board it is your responsibility.

What if it was some sort of Godawful porn, not even illegal, just utterly repulsive? He didn't make it, just copied the file and posted it. Y'all would expect one of the Mods to drop kick the poster in a hot second. This is EXACTLY the same thing.

I also disagree, you shouldn't change the original message to fit your own views. It's clear he posted that he did not agree with the the OP's pov.

I agree with the moderator. I see little difference between being racist and enabling racists by translating/republishing their work to reach a wider audience. It's not as if anyone involved here is a "common carrier" with a legal or moral obligation to convey every message just because it is a message. It's especially egregious because that map was presented by the original author as an "ideal USA", not as a "dystopian USA".

Drawing back to the whole 'maps' thing, have a WIP. No! Better, two!

Image 1# A WIP of another Vox Populi map, which are proving very fun to make. This depicts Central Europe in 1970, with special attention to the Kingdom of Prussia, the Kingdom of Saxony and the Transalpine Federation as well as Baden, Rhine and Switzerland. Still have a lot of cities, roads, subdivisions and lakes to map, among other things.

He CHOSE to POST IT. That makes it his. He could have modified or omitted that section; he didn't. You post it, you are responsible for it.

This, of course, also assumes that he is not the original author and simply has a different user name on different sites.

The difference is in whether you and/or the original author are presenting the dystopia as a good thing or a bad thing.
