List of Alternate Monarchs and Aristocratic Lineage II

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in a scenario where Charles would not inherit Spain, wouldn't he be more likely to keep his betrothal with Mary Tudor the Elder?
He most certainly would. It was Ferdinand II’s influence that ruined that, which wouldn’t happen ITTL. Also Henry of Navarre was barely a king. I can’t see him getting a Spanish infanta.

That is absolutely correct, assuming Henry viii doesn’t decide to nuke his relationship with spain in 1514 like IOTL (though I think at least part of that was Charles being wishy washy about setting a date for his wedding to Mary)

He was betrayed on the field by Ferdinand and likely knew who the latter’s influence was behind Charles’ indefinite delay of his wedding to Mary and he needed also to secure peace with France, so his choice was quite logical.
Still If Charles is engaged to Mary and not heir of Aragon he will have no reason for not marrying her as planned

yes. And given that Margarita would already be close to marital age (12yo) by the time her brothers are born, it's very possible she's already been married off to a Trastamara (whether the duque of Segorbe or Calabria) for in the event that Margarethe doesn't have a son.

The marriages to the Palatinate and Navarre likewise make zero sense. Palatinate was because Karl V had promised the Elector Palatine an archduchess in exchange for electing him. And Navarre would be seen as a waste. Maria would be more likely to wind up as duchess of Savoy (possibly paired with her sister's match to François of France).

If Fernando winds up as viceroy of Naples, then a match to Isabella of Poland, Duchess of Bari and Princess of Rossano makes more sense than a cousin of the king of Portugal

Here Mary died before her wedding (she never had great health)
false. Her health was fine until she caught the sweat in 1528. She never fully recovered from that. It's why Charles Brandon hated Anne Boleyn as he did. Anne caught it and recovered, Mary caught it and did not.

Spain was fighting to rule Navarre and there are not a lot of single kings floating around at this decade
Savoy works. So does Lorraine. Both claimed the royal style "king of Jerusalem" and "king of Naples", even if only infrequently at this point.

Hmmm, I’m not completely sure on that one. I agree that the sweat wrecked her health and that she never recovered from it, but during her childhood, it seems like she also suffered from unstable health, given the apothecary bills paid for her

Inspired by the What If Edward VI had a son thread.

Eleanor d'Este (b. 1515)
I assume she had a completely different upbringing then? Since she wanted to be a nun from childhood.
Alfonso (b. 1509) married ?
cardinal infante, archbishop of Toledo, Saragossa etc (i.e. spiritual heir to his namesake uncle, Alfonso d'Aragona)

  1. Alfonso (b. 1509) married ?
  2. Leanor (b. 1510) married Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor (b. 1500) in 1526 as second wife.
  3. Margarita (b. 1512) married ?
  4. Beatriz (b. 1514) married ?
all three are unlikely unmarried at their dad's death. This means they will be taking a "back seat" to Fernando VI's own children. Karl V is far more likely to wed Fernando's daughter than his sister. After all, if Fernando married in 1513, a daughter could be born as early as 1514/1515, meaning only a year/eighteen month wait rather than several years as with Mary Tudor.

Leonor, Margarita and Beatriz are far more likely to get "second tier" matches like Savoy (see my previous point about with no Margarethe available as second wife, Filiberto II will marry elsewhere and likely leave an heir, or Carlo III would have no reason to wait until 1520), Milan, Lorraine or even Poland/Hungary (if Mary of Austria dies unexpectedly leaving Lajos II a widower or @Zygmunt Stary has a son by Barbara Zapolya.
