DBWI: No Habsburg Spain

So, everyone we discuss about the Habsburgs in Hungary, someone bring out that this was only possible since they had accepted Franco invite to restore the Habsburg rule in Spain a few decades before.

What if the Habsburgs had refused Franco? Could things have been different? Could Hungary have remained a republic?

Hungary probably would had remained as republic.

For Spain it would epends whom then Franco would pick as his successor. But probably Spain still would transfer to democracy.

Or then constituional monarchy. OTL Spain is too constituinal one. Dmocracy and monarchy are not mutally exclusive.
