Historical Background: After the successful invasion of Joseon Korea in the 16th century, the Toyotomi Clan solidified their control over Japan, becoming the Lords of the Land. In the 1630s, the Japanese were able to conquer Ming China, with the help of their Vassal, the Manchu Khanate, creating the Toyotomi Dynasty, becoming the Emperor of China, that spanned most of East Asia, besides the Southern Ming.
Festivities: During the festivals, there are plays of the Conquest of Asia, where actors react famous battles. Fireworks are launched in a week know as the “Festival of Light”. Then the Toyotomi Emperor would travel the provinces (under heavy guard) and perform ritual rites, and then ceremonially dine with the Emperor of Japan, acknowledging their role as “Lord of Japan”, but is also acknowledged as “Emperor of China”.
Food: There are many traditional Asian foods served from vendors. Particularly, the Chinese Tanghulu, the Korean Hangwa, and the Japanese Wagashi are enjoyed Candy for children
