AHC: Make Kiev the capital of Russia

With a POD of the baptism of the Rus, have Kiev be the capital of modern Russia. Bonus points if St.Petersburg is still established by Peter the great. How can this be done?

Hm. Would a Kievan state - after the collapse of Rus', as the Mongol butterfly suggests - be more western-focused and "European" than a Muscovite one? Would they really have an incentive to take on Novgorod (and therefore make a "Russia" that we might recognise) rather than feud endlessly with Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland etc.?

It should be a recognizable Russia; having unified al Russian principalities and expanding into Siberia.

One of Elizabeth's or Catherine's lovers from Ukraine persuades her to make a seasonal capital there, centuries later it's the city picked as the overall capital alongside Petersburg and Moscow? :p It's not an easy challenge. 18th c. Kiev was pretty small but it did grow quick in the 19th.
