AHC: A World War crisis for every nation

The challenge rules are simple: to have a crisis (like a civil war or other major event like an assassination) happening in one nation (with little to no involvement from another nation), that escalates into a continental/world war.

The challenge, however, is to do this for all 195 UN-member and observer states.

Let's begin with some of OTL and my own examples:
  • USA - British and French involvement in the American Civil War leads the Union to seek other allies in Europe, starting a world war that spreads to other colonies.
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina - World War 1.
  • Germany - The Berlin Blockade escalates into World War 3.
  • South Sudan - The Fashoda Incident escalates into World War 3.
  • France - The French Revolutionary Wars become entangled with other concurrent revolutions in the Americas, making them a world war.

Liechtenstein: on May 2, 1945, the remnants of the Russian National Army (a pro-German force that fought the Soviet Union) under Boris Smyslovsky flee into Liechtenstein and are granted asylum by Prince Franz-Joseph II. That tiny nation refuses to hand over these men to the Soviet Union.

In our alternate timeline, an enraged Stalin launches an airborne attack across the French and British occupation zones of Austria to attack Liechtenstein.

Liechtenstein falls to the Soviet paratroopers, but the French and British belatedly contest the skies and launch a ground attack into Liechtenstein to liberate it. Fighting breaks out along the border between the Soviet forces and those of the Western Allies. On August 6, 1945, the US drops an atomic bomb on Leningrad.

By the way: shouldn't this thread go in the post-1900 forum?

I placed it in pre-1900s since I meant a generic world war, not related to any of the 2 major world wars of the 20th century.

Chile: The 1891 Baltimore Crisis results in a war between Chile and the US, with UK intervening in Chile's favour to consolidate its control of the nitrate-producing regions. Things escalate.

North & South Korea (and China, sorta): for whatever reason, the Chinese counteroffensive against the UN fails immediately, and the UN pushes into Manchuria. Fearing a collapse of Mao’s regime, Stalin sends the Red Army in to fight. World War III over Korea has begun, as many at the time feared.

Taiwan: China attacks Taiwan in the Third Taiwan crisis in 1996. In response, Clinton orders a nuclear attack on China, beginning a nuclear exchange.

Russia: the British considered asking Prussia and Sweden to join the Crimean War, the latter to retake Finland. if they both accept, you now have an essential world war against Russia.

Samoa: a bit of a stretch, but, have the Second Samoan Civil War escalate, and involve the UK and US battle Germany. While definitely the most unlikely one on this list-I don’t see how else Samoa can get a world war.

Canada: have the Nootka Crisis between Spain and the UK escalate. You now have a war between the British-Dutch, and the French-Spanish, on the eve of the French Revolution to boot.

Well, the first step to doing this is to prevent the formation of a Non-Aligned Movement. Second step would probably (or better yet, most likely) be World War III.
