I'm not really sure about specifics, but America's population is probably just under a billion, Australia's closer to sixty thousand, the Middle East is probably around 200-300 million, Argentina is about 150 million, Africa is closing in on 200 million, and Amerokorea is about 10-20 million. The countries that don't start with A in English were included because I alphabetized the countries by their endonyms instead of their English exonyms- for example, Morocco's endonym is "Amerruk."
Thank you. Also australia is only 60,000? Do you mean 60 million?

Just keep in mind the Galveston Hurricane in 1900. Nearly wiped out the city. As far as capitals go there would be some space constraints as well, though I suppose nothing too major, since it is hardly like it would be a national capital. I see in your thread Galveston is only mentioned once, in reference to an election win. Houston apparently got a lot of investors and business scared away from Galveston after it was nearly leveled, so... Well, just things for you to keep in mind for if you do any posts Texas. I also feel Sante Fe is too close to the edges or states, when it was originally the center of New Mexico, and as one of the largest cities back then it would have had the hinterland in its own state. Also the issue of... Whould Texas really want to call Arizona New Mexico? They have half of the original from before independence, but... Hmmm, I don't know. Ahhh, fun fact. New Mexico is actually named after the Valley of Mexico, and had the name over a century before Mexican independence. I would guess you were trying to keep New Mexico away from the border with Mexico, but then it seems like naming that one place Nueces instead of Rio Grande would almost be like waving a red flag to a bull. And Gulf of Cortez.... I cannot see the Mexicans, Californians, or Texans wanting to use the name of him for that. It might go against their own nationalist policies. Come to think of it, how does Texas have so much land? They needed the US to back them to get most of what they got IOTL, and I feel it would be impractical for them to invade westward repeatedly. Suppose it might be one of those things you need to read to find out.
How did Texas stave off bankruptcy and not want to get get annexed by a more powerful nation that would assume that debt for them in order to be able to expand like that?
You could, like, read the Hail Britannia thread for some answers, including a Texas outline post HERE. While I'm not the author, what I can tell you on behalf of @LeinadB93 is you are working from some faulty conclusions on the origin and entire relationship of Texas via-a-vis the British Empire, not to mention land grabs post-Great War.

As @FleetMac rightly points out, there's a lot of backstory to this map. Texas gained independence as OTL, but under British protection until the 1930s/40s. Santa Fe de Nuevo Mexico was seized in 1841 during the Texan Border Wars and then formalised through the treaty that ended the Mexican War (OTL Mexican-American War). Sonora was annexed following the defeat of Central Powers-aligned Mexico during the First World War. New Mexico became the general term in Texas for the sparsely populated western territories until the 1876 Constitution divided up the country into states. New Mexico Territory was created from the territory west of the Rio Grande, whilst the Trans-Pecos and Llano territories were created from the remants west and north of Comancheria.

Red World - 1958

RedWorld.png

Without Marshall plan Europe fell to communism and only the USA and Britain are fighting the red tide. For a while it was on the British to shoulder the brunt of the fight with the Irish civil war, the Venezuelian conflict and the fall of South America and the Carribean with Cuba and Puerto Rico to socialism, the USA have to fight on the home front.

The third world is not spared by the ideological struggle, the pan-arabism movement is gripped by the throat by the communist rebellions and despite US help, Egypt is the only local power to oppose the red menace. Kurdish militia is spreading communism in Syria, Iraq and Iran while the Soviet influence is spreading to Pakistan with the red Afghani fighting in the mountains.

While Africa have decolonized seemingly easily, the Congolese civil war could destabilize the whole region and even neutral nations could fall via domino effect. The British holdings in the region are cited as the last bastion of defense but the locals disagree, many seem to prefer communism to imperialism.

The Westward Migration

I was going through Wikipedia's list of alternate history books to see if there were any I hadn't heard of and ended up reading through the article for "The Gate of Time." Though its premise is rather ASB, I think the idea of the ancestors of the Native Americans going west instead of east and taking the place of OTL's Slavs is a neat idea, so I decided to use it as an idea for a map. I didn't use all of The Gate of Time's alternate migrations, and I also threw in a few ideas of my own here and there. Don't take this too seriously, it's not meant to be that plausible.

I didn't use The Gate of Time's PoD of the American continents sinking, instead having the ancestors of the Native Americans never head east thanks to the Bering Strait staying iced over. (I didn't want to leave the Americas completely uninhabited, though, so I decided to have the Polynesians settle them instead.) The ancestors of the Aztecs end up settling in OTL's Russia, the Iroquois head to Romania, the Algonquin go to Czechia, etc., which naturally throws everything off- most of the Slavs end up in Persia and the eastern Middle East, the Basques end up in France, et cetera. Everybody settles down in their new roles, and history proceeds afterwards with very vague parallels to OTL- for instance, there was a rough analogue to the Roman Empire, but it was ruled by ethnic *Egyptians who were shifted a bit farther eastwards and got as far north as the *Baltics and as far east as mid-*Iran, but didn't get any further west than central Europe. To the east, ethnic *Indochinese peoples drifted south into *Australia and ended up colonizing the majority of the continent, managing to domesticate crops and local waterfowl (think something like Lands of Red and Gold), while the Empire of Gauria rampaged across Eurasia, drastically changed the geopolitical scene of the Old World, and proceeded to collapse within a few generations. Eventually, Europe rose to prominence quite by accident when an explorer from the Kingdom of Prithenia (an ethnically-Anglo state covering much of Iberia) landed in a new continent to the west, leading to the slow European colonization of the two continents that would later be known as Newfoundland and Yukata. The native Newfoundlanders and Yukatans towards the east were either killed by European diseases or enslaved, while those that lived farther west managed to grimly hold out against the Europeans, and the gears of imperialism ground onward as Europe began to assert its dominance over the rest of the world.

The year is currently 1939 AV or 607 PH depending on which of the major religions you follow, and the world has become a very different place. There is currently an ongoing war between the European empires that is divided along religious lines, with one side of the conflict following a religion known as Virjillism and the other following Hemilkism. The religion of Virjillism originated in northern Makedon under the prophet Virjill Albi, who professed a belief in three gods who used the Earth as a battlefield: one evil, one good, and one neutral that served as a sort of "moderator" between them, known as Grypnisi, Devasia, and Enustik, respectively, which were most likely derived from a local polytheistic religion. According to Virjill, he was the son of Enustik, sent to Earth to enlighten humanity as to the truth: they should all worship Enustik, the embodiment of neutrality and the middle ground, and always seek to keep the keep the world as balanced as possible so as to keep either Grypnisi or Devasia from claiming the Earth as their own, for an imbalance either way would inevitably lead to entropy and the end of the world. Additionally, Virjill claimed that all humans were the spirits of minor gods forced into the forms of humans by Grypnisi and Devasia to prevent them from intervening in their cosmic battle as a possible third major force, destined to be endlessly reincarnated over and over again until their spirits were exhausted into nothingness and ceased to be (Virjill believed that being enlightened as to their true identities would keep people from "losing strength" and continuing to endure throughout the repeated reincarnations). Virjill also sought to enforce taboos and customs of varying strangeness: only the flesh of chickens, horses, goats, and carnivorous animals (asides from cats, which Virjill claimed to be holy animals and representatives of Enustik) were considered "clean" to consume, a base-13 numerical system was created (the number thirteen was believed to be holy due to humans having thirteen limbs, as Virjill counted each finger and the head as separate limbs), and a taboo against monogamy, as Virjill believed that every person must have exactly two partners (though he didn't specify gender) as a mirror to the existence of three gods. After Virjill ostensibly "ascended to the heavens" to return to his father's side following a dramatic lightning-induced self-immolation, Virjillism spread rapidly across eastern Europe, the Middle East, and northeast Africa, and was even adopted as the official religion of the Empire of Kamet.

Hemilkism, on the other hand, was founded six centuries after Virjill's death by a Celtic merchant named Hemilka who claimed Virjill to have been a deceitful false prophet. Hemilka professed that Enustik did not, in fact, exist, and that Virjill was actually the son of Grypnisi sent to create chaos on Earth. Though Hemilka did not say he was the son of Devasia, he did claim to have spoken to him multiple times, which was how he had supposedly unearthed the "truth" of Virjill's deceit. Hemilka sought to turn everyone over to worship Devasia, as he claimed "Enustik" to be a mere alter ego of Grypnisi created to sow chaos, and also stated Virjill's claims that humans were possessed by minor gods to be completely false, instead professing that human spirits would be "assimilated" into either Grypnisi or Devasia upon death, depending on which one they were closer in morals to, with their traits, personality, and talents absorbed into the respective god to aid in their eternal battle against one another. According to Hemilka, this would eventually culminate in the end of the world and the assimilation of every human on Earth into one of the two gods for the final phase of their battle. However, when Hemilka charged into Kametan Makedon with a mob of his followers in an attempt to burn the temples to Enustik and Virjill there to the ground, he was killed by soldiers of Kamet after a spear pierced his skull. Hemilka's followers were not disheartened, however, and adopted the speared skull as a symbol of their religion, appointing Hemilka's son as the new head of the religion. Hemilkism would spread across western Europe in the aftermath of the retreat of Hemilka's followers, even briefly establishing a "Hemilkist World Empire" that grew to cover the majority of the continent after multiple successful wars against Kamet, though it would ultimately collapse during the Gaurian invasion of Europe.

Though the Empire of Kamet and the Hemilkist World Empire are both long gone, the religious divides they left in Europe endured, and with the eruption of the Global War this has been made all the clearer. As stated before, the war is divided between the Virjillist and Hemilkist powers, which have been at each other's throats as long as the religious divide has existed. Though both sides had previously sought to avoid war due to the fear of bringing on the destruction of their massive empires, after the Federal Coalescence of Lusiannya abruptly invaded the Sandraugan Kingdoms of Lietvia's African colonies, it didn't take long for the tangled web of alliances to bring the rest of Europe into the war.

The Virjillist side is led by the Kingdom of Prithenia, which is what the inhabitants of this world would call a "sandraugan [1] state with monarchic elements," or by OTL's terms, a constitutional monarchy. As was mentioned before, it is an ethnically-Anglo state covering most of Iberia with colonies on almost every continent, though it's not quite as powerful as OTL's British Empire. Though it's one of the more liberal colonist states and isn't particularly dystopian at home, it's still extremely authoritarian in its colonies, though it tends to give the indigenous inhabitants better treatment if they've converted to Virjillism, have documented proof of at least one Prithenian grandparent (in which case they're treated as "honorary Prithenians"), or both. Indeed, Prithenia is notable in this world for not having anything resembling OTL's "anti-miscegenation" laws, and even promotes interracial marriage for its colonists heading abroad, believing that its purpose is to put the "inherent strength" of Prithenian blood (though converting to Virjillism, as previously stated, is treated as a decent substitute) into the "lesser peoples" of the world. Prithenia's oldest ally is the Sandraugan Kingdoms of Lietvia, an ethnically-Lithuanian state covering most of OTL Germany, Poland, and Scandinavia, and was formed as a confederation of local Virjillist monarchies across central Europe which gradually grew into a proper, unified country. Like Prithenia, Lietvia is a constitutional monarchy, though it's rather more democratic than Prithenia- Prithenia has a tricameral legislature with two unelected houses and a national judiciary appointed by the monarch, while Lietvia has a unicameral, wholly elected legislature that also appoints the judiciary. However, Lietvia is considerably worse than Prithenia in its colonies- European ancestry is not enough to elevate a godless savage to the level of a European, so why bother encouraging such practices? Instead, Lietvia constantly sends settlers to its various colonies, hoping to "overrun" the natives and simply quietly make them a minority. As such, Lietvia doesn't bother trying to convert anyone in its colonies to Virjillism- what difference will it make if they're all eliminated in a few generations? Despite their difference in colonial treatments, however, Prithenia and Lietvia have remained firm allies for centuries, likely due to no small amount of cognitive dissonance on the parts of their leaders. The final major member of the Virjillists is the Second Empire of Kamet, which was known as the Sandrauga of Misyr until its overthrow nineteen years ago and replacement with a more authoritarian state which seeks to rebuild the Empire of Kamet and has been engaged in quite a bit of cultural revivalism. Kamet has also been going on a conquering spree across the Middle East despite the majority of it already being Virjillist, which Prithenia and Lietvia have quietly turned a blind eye to, not wanting to irk the leadership of Kamet and have them drop out of the war.

The Hemilkists, on the other hand, don't really have a clear leader, though the strongest country among them is the Sandrauga of Thule, a formerly-Lietvian prison colony for its Hemilkist minority which eventually broke away and conquered much of northern Yukata over the next century. Thule is a totalitarian state dedicated to "racial purity" which has murdered or enslaved all of its non-ethnically-Lietvian and non-Hemilkist population and is in the process of expanding its influence across Yukata and Newfoundland at the expense of the Virjillist colonies around it, having been put in a rather strong position due to being one of the few independent states in the New World. Thankfully, the other Hemilkists are less ax-crazy, with the European and African fronts being led by the Kingdom of Keltoia, Kingdom of Euskandel, and the Federal Coalescence of Lusiannya. Keltoia is an ethnically-Celtic state with some *Gothic influence under a constitutional monarchy and may be one of the smaller powers, but it more than makes up for it with its massive military, to the point that some have commented that Keltoia is an army with a country. Keltoia was beaten and humiliated by the Virjillists in the brief Prithenian-Keltoian War three decades ago when it lost its colonies in southern Africa to Prithenia, and its leadership isn't particularly eager to repeat the mistakes of the past. Though Keltoia isn't particularly dystopian at home, the kind of behavior going on in its colonies looks like something out of OTL's Congo Free State, which its allies have ignored via a distinctly unhealthy dosage of doublethink (asides from Thule, which encourages it to keep up the good work). Euskandel, on the other hand, is the most benevolent of the Hemilkists in its colonies, though that's not to say it's some happy shiny whitewashed colonialist fantasy- it's still just as racist as the other Europeans. The Federal Coalescence of Lusiannya is a majority-African state ruled by an *Iberian upper class that were pushed south by the ancestors of the Prithenians and eventually overtook a decent chunk of western Africa. Lusiannya is also the source of a relatively new ideology called "federalism," which sought to create an alternative to the sandrauganist monarchies that served as a different compromise between absolutism and sandrauganism. As it turned out, that alternative was "split the country up into somewhat-autonomous areas, elect one person from the upper class who rules all of them for life, and rinse and repeat when they die," with just a little added corporatocracy. Federalism is also extremely anti-nationalist, with the goal of eventually unifying the entire planet into a single federalist state. Lusiannya has been very active in trying to spread federalism around the world and has seen success in several other states throughout Eurasia, most of which have sided with the Hemilkists regardless of religion in hopes of spreading their ideology. A notable exception to this rule is the Federal Coalescence of Rashenkov, which has joined the Virjillists in a case of religion prevailing over ideology.

Of course, there are some notable neutral powers. In western Newfoundland and Yukata, the few remaining native states grimly hang on to their remaining territory and glare across their borders at the ongoing war, not willing to risk the possibility of being conquered by the Europeans when they've already lost so much. There's also a major European-settled power there in the form of the Sandrauga of Greater Newfoundland, a former Prithenian colony that gained its independence via referendum three hundred years ago and promptly kicked out the minor prince Prithenia had sent to govern the new country and turned it into a fully-democratic state as part of a wild new experiment in sandrauganism. Greater Newfoundland would gradually expand westwards after that, though at a much slower speed than OTL's United States and with far less genocide (though most of the surviving native Newfoundlanders were still herded into "Autonomous Indigenous Areas" and never let out again). Greater Newfoundland is rather sorry for its past abuses of Newfoundland's indigenous population, however, and has taken the surviving native states under its wing and rapidly turned against the "evils of European imperialism," despite having been founded by European imperialists. Greater Newfoundland is an anomaly in that it's one of the less religious states in this world, and the Newfoundlander strain of Virjillism is rather more pacifistic than the European variants and has syncretized a bit with native religions, and as such, its populace has no desire to enter the unfolding war. The current major debates in Greater Newfoundland's government are over disbanding the Autonomous Indigenous Areas and incorporating them as normal provinces and the possibility of legalizing monogamy, though the latter has encountered much more resistance than the former. On the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, the Hueyinlatl Empire is another notable neutral nation. Though it may be a Virjillist state, Hueyinlatl has chosen to sit the war out despite the pleas of the other Virjillists. It is an ethnically-Aztec state and a rather autocratic empire somewhat reminiscent of OTL's Tsarist Russia if the Duma had a bit more power. Though the Hueyinlatl are perhaps the most strictly Virjillist state in all of Eurasia, the Hueyinlatl variety of Virjillism is rather more apocalyptic than its western cousin and predicts a war in which the Hemilkists and Virjillists will utterly destroy each other, at which point Hueyinlatl will be free to sweep in and take all of Europe for itself. (Never mind that Hueyinlatl has already proven itself not to be good at colonizing, considering that it's only managed to hang on to its frozen northern colonies in Newfoundland, which is mainly because nobody lived there before it came along.) Similarly, the Kingdom of Tawantizuyu, a mostly ethnically-Inca state (though its ethnic history is quite a bit more diverse than that and includes Celts, Basques, and Slavs), is a Hemilkist state but has not joined its Hemilkist counterparts due to being preoccupied with colonial ventures on the continent of Trieua, which has stayed relatively free of European colonial influence due to a combination of the colonial empires being distracted in Newfoundland, Yukata, and Africa and the continent having developed quite a few nasty diseases that scared potential colonists off. Too bad the Tawantizuyuans figured out vaccines for most of them. In India, the Sandrauga of Kiyukku (which was settled by a combination of various ethnically-Middle Eastern and East African groups) is a fairly ideologically-moderate state following a rich variety of pagan religions and a somewhat-corrupt republic. Farther east, the Federal Coalescence of Tzonguo and the Saariset Federation (ethnically-Chinese and Finnish, respectively), are both fairly moderate democratic states following a religion surprisingly similar to OTL's Shinto and are doing their best to stay out of the crazy religious affairs of the Europeans. (Tzonguo would have joined in to help out Lusiannya, but they've received enough angry letters from Siuad Nasserdusol over the years calling them "traitors to true federalism" for integrating "too many sandraugan elements" into their government that they've decided to just stay out altogether.) To the south, the continent of Trieua (or "Australia," as it's known IOTL) has managed to stay relatively free of the Europeans save for a few enclaves here and there, though the patchwork kingdoms and confederacies of Trieua remain technologically behind the rest of the world. This is proving to be a curse as the aforementioned Tawantizuyuan troops pour onto the continent in search of glory, though the difficulties of shipping soldiers and supplies from northern Europe to Trieua may ultimately be their salvation.

Technology is in a bit of an odd place, mostly between OTL's 1930s and 1980s, though nuclear technology is completely absent. Electric power and steam power tend to be used just about as much as each other, however, and there are some parts that are even farther back: for instance, surprisingly sophisticated repeating crossbows are widely used despite gunpowder having been discovered several centuries ago by the Gaurians, as gunpowder is considered too valuable of a resource to waste on simple footsoldiers. The armored cars, planes, and tanks of this world look more than a little dieselpunk and tend to be rather larger, and the Lietvians are even testing out an utter monstrosity in the form of a tank the size of a house. There has been some research into war vehicles with legs on both sides, but results have been mostly disappointing so far.

[1] "Sandrauga" is TTL's term for a democratic state and originated in Lietvia.

The area under UN occupation has a population of around 700-800 million. The UN doesn't have the manpower to occupy that nobody does without total mobilization except maaaybe India, to say nothing of a PLAN nuke sub launching. Miss one and the Apocalypse comes.

China could shoot every non-Han and the UN would do nothing, because they could do nothing behind the PLA-RF, and its nukes, the Chinese Veto, and the sheer manpower requirements.
