GOSTIVAR, NORTH MACEDONIA - Smoke rises as chaos spreads in the North Macedonian city of Gostivar during the initial stages of the Great Panic, as freshly-reanimated zombies begin to take over and shatter the last vestiges of the Old World.
DETROIT, MICHIGAN - Hordes of zombies roam free in Zed-infested Detroit several years into the war. During the height of the war, the true only true safe havens in Detroit were the city's two main sports stadiums, Comerica Park and Ford Field, which had been turned into virtual castles by the city's ingeniously resilient (and heavily-armed) survivors, who had taken to using the former's baseball field to grow crops with which to feed themselves (thanks in part to knowledge cultivated by the city's plentiful "urban farms" which had been operated for years prior to the war).
TORONTO, CANADA - At the height of the Great Panic in North America, the RCMP and OPP attempted to quarantine Toronto, which was quickly infesting with zombies thanks in part to it being home to the busiest airport in the country. Many people tried to break the quarantine. Some were successful, like this truck driver who rammed through an RCMP/OPP checkpoint with his rig. Others were not so lucky, as police and security forces had standing orders from the upper echelons in Ottawa to shoot to kill. Ultimately, the number of infected were just too much for the local authorities' meager resources and the quarantine was overrun, as was the case in so many cities in North America and around the world.
