Technocratic-sounding Names for Countries?

Yes, I know. Technocracy is fascism for nerds.

However, I'm working on a psuedo-timeline where Technocrats somehow seize power in at least one country, and I need advice on how to make techocratic sounding names.

Here's an example of what I mean by (ideology)-sounding names, for those of you who might not get what I mean:
Monarchy - Kingdom of (Nation)/(Nationality) Empire
Communist/Socialist - People's Republic of (Nation)/(Nationality) Socialist Republic
Liberal Republic - Republic of (Nation)/(Nationality) Republic
Technocratic - What I'm asking you guys for advice on

"Technate of [Nation]"/"[Nationality] Technate" and "Technocratic Republic of [Nation]"/"[Nationality] Technocratic Republic" are probably your best bets.

OTL Example: Dominion of Canada

Technocratic options:

  • Canada (efficient!)
  • Scientific Republic of Canada
  • Canadian Commercial, Financial, and Social Authority
  • Canadian Planning Authority
  • Canada Inc. (see Technocracy Inc.)
  • Canadian Technate
  • (Rational/Empirical) Society of Canada
  • District of Canada (especially for a technocratic nation with ambition)
  • Synergistic Republic of Canada
  • Canadian Board of Standards and Practices

I have for example used "German Nation of Progress" for a future German technocracy, but I also like and support the other suggesions in the thread.

  • Technocratic Union of America
  • Scientific States of America
  • Synergistic States of America

Planed State of X
Managed State of X
X-ian Scientific State
Positivist State of X
Standardized State of X

If you want a state which maintains, or at least pretends to maintain, some democratic institutions just replace "state" with "republic".

Surely a technologically obsessed society might ensue terms like nation or geographic terminology.

Things like;-
The Council for Modern Humanity - Northern Hemisphere.
Network of Citizens.

Presumably it's a republic that changes its name as monarchies tend not to (see Kingdom of Italy in WW2).
If keeping Republic of X is not possible then you will probably get Y Republic of X. In this case Y = Technical, Technate, Technocratic, etc.

Imo Authority, Directorate or "Unitary State" are better than "Technate", it always felt a little forced to me and a bit too Star Trek. States don't often put their ideologies right there in the name, with the rare exception of Socialist states and even then you're more likely to get a Democratic or People's republic.

Sure, but North American Technate is the actual historical name proposed by OTL technocratic movement.

I'm aware but it just never sounded natural to me and political movements inevitably evolve in their aesthetics and terminology away from their point of creation.

I know I am replying to an old post, but generally the government for a technocracy is a technate, and the technocrats thought of several technates, mostly named after the geographic area they are based in: East Asian Technate, North American Technate, etc. But if you want something more sci-fi, perhaps the Interstellar Technate, or the Consolidated Systems Technate.

Other names that come to mind are the Interstellar Directorate, the Terran Technical Consolidation, or the Planned Union of States.
