Hello guys this is a project on which I have been working for some time.

As base map I used Ashtagon´s map on Deviantart.

Very nice! My only gripe is that the Wahhabi colour is kind of difficult to distinguish from the Sunni colour.

I hope you can finish this map, but i think somebody already got ahead of you on this one
And just a friendly reminder, christianity should be in purple shades, to make it more distinct

Really? Didn't know of it.
Where I could, the colours used were based on the colours used in Europa Universalis 4, others were added by me (new colours for Uniate, Maronite, Anglican, Wahhabi, Alevi, Druze, Wahhabi, Yazidi, pagans, Jains and "other Indian religion".

North Kazakhstan is just such a mosaic.

I would definetly NOT suggest purple. The shades would blend together a lot more. And if you go into Christian denominations, might also want to go over the link below this sometime. Or not, might be too complicated. When you do Buddhism, you should show them in at least three colors though, for the different branches. And I would say orange would be a good choice for Hinduism, especially as the Christian, Parsi, Muslim, Sikh, Jainist, Buddhist, Scheduled Tribe areas will stand out better in comparison.

Regarding IndiacI chose the blueish volour for Hindu, as it was also in EU4. It is distinguishable from its Sunni neighbours, as well as Tibeto-Mongolian Buddhists(colour of majorityof Bhutan) and Southeast Asian Buddhist branch(Sri Lanka and the square in Burma)
The darker dot in western Jammu and Kashmir willbe Sikh (also the rectangle in western Tibet I used as a palette.)
Dark blue in NE India Arunachal Pradesh is Christian but census nor Wikipedia failed to provide denomination so I just labelled them as protestant.
To the east of the protestants is a "other Indian religion"area which, along with Shia is not very distinguishable I know)

Orange is orthodox already. Dunno if I should separate Christians more. So far I distinguished:
Roman Catholic yellow
Uniate/Greek Catholic beige
Maronite/oriental catholic maroon
Orthodox orange
Oriental Orthodox colour of Armenia
Nestorian dark pink
Protestant Lutheran indigo
Calvinist, dutch protestant and Presbyterian also huguenot
Anglican
(Mormon will get its own colour. )

The orange you are using looks like more of a brown on my screen. I was thinking more like the orange of a Buddhist monk or the flag of India.

I don't have any sources, but I just wanted to chime in and say that this is fantastic work! If this map gets completed, we will have a great potential source for world religions on this site.

I know of this. Unfortunately, that map focuses more on proportion (different shades for the same faith), and has a limited ammount of relgions shown (12)

Poland:a problematic one. What was certain are Lutherans in Silesia. Orthodox according to areas populated by Belarusians. Uniate areas: lands populated by Ukrainians.

The problem is that there are three contradicting maps:

According to first two, majority is Catholic. According to last, majority is Protestant. I guess the problem is that the protestants in US are very divided, as if you have a county that is say 25% Baptist, 20% Episcopalian, 20% Methodist, and 35% Catholic it will still be shown as Catholic on the first two maps.

Also how should I treat Methodists? Give them a separate colour, or use the Anglican one?
