What are the coat of arms of the constituent kingdoms?
Good question!
Sardinia: Gules, a cross of argent (like OTL Savoy)
Aragon: Or, four pallets of gules (like OTL)
Africa: no idea. I like Or and Azure to represent it, though.
Lombardia: Argent, a cross of Gules (like OTL Genoa)
The coat-of-arms of the Caramello is not well defined, but it should have Azure, as this colour shows on both the Cara and the de Mello CoAs. I'm using a blue sun over white simply because CK2 generated that randomly, lol.
How is this one?
Mix of the Genoan and the Piedmontan Crosses with a golden Eagle.
Oh, nice! The double-cross is indeed a ncie symbol for Sardinia itself, but I'm not sure if I like a golden eagle over so much white. A unique symbol for the country as a whole is a good idea, though (like the Golden Eague over a red field).
Also, 'Sardinian Empire' is a rather silly expression, and 'Italian Empire' is misleading even if all my vassals are italians. Any suggestions for a name?
I tried two designs:
-the first one merging the CoAs of the three-and-a-half kingdoms (for blue bars on gold for Africa, and the St. Ambrose cross for Lombardy)
-the second, adopting the heraldic Dolphin as a symbol for the Mediterranean, with white-on-red for Sardinia/Lombardy, blue-on-white for Africa, and red-on-gold for Aragon. The merchant ensign would probably have circles or crosses instead of the dolphins.
