Lima Peru: Colonel Chan was attempting to rebuild the Peruvian Army from scratch. His people trained the recruits and from the best and the brightest were selected NCOs. He was however facing a problem regarding a lack of officers. The result was he had put Hawaiian Special Forces officers in command of the Battalion, company and Platoon and was pushing the first Peruvian class. These officer cadets were getting 30 days of basic military training and then 120 days of military training as officers. He hoped that by this means he might have enough officers to take over for two Battalions and this would buy time for a regular class to graduate with at least 1-2 years of military education.
