Peshwar Lancers Redux: Kingdom of Hawaii

George W Kamehameha realized that he still had a lot to do as Prime Minister so he spoke with his father, Uncles and Cousins about running for at least one possibley two more terms as Prime Minister. His Aunt however thought that he should think about retiring. The family had given a lot to Hawaii. Her husband was the King's National Security advisor and she believed that it was time for him to retire.
 
George's Uncle informed him that he would be submitting his retirement papers to the Navy and his resignation letter to his majesty as the National Security Advisor. It was time for him to spend time with his grandchildren and take a vacation.
The Admiral had taken the job from his brother in law when he had retired from the service. He would shortly submit his recommendation for a replacement.
 
Linda Lingle was the Admiral's Candidate to replace him. She had served on the city council in Maui and had been hired by the Admiral as one of his aides. She had not yet celebrated her 27th birthday but she was bright and capable. She would be the first woman to serve in the position and the first Cabinet level woman since the Prime Ministers late Aunt served as Deputy Prime Minister.

The King after speaking with his National Security Advisor spoke with the Prime Minister. He agreed to appoint Linda Lingle as the new National Security Advisor providing that the Admiral remain for a month to smooth her transition. The Prime Minister held a meeting with her and found her to be more than u[ to the task. In fact he saw a person who might one day become the first female Prime Minister of Hawaii.
 
Linda Lingle was fitting in and attended a briefing at the Royal Hawaiian Intelligence Agency regarding threats. She was also briefed by the Royal Hawaiian Joint Chiefs on Military operations. He former boss felt that she was now up to speed and turned over everything to her. He told her that she was capable but if she ran into a problem he was available to consult. Thus she held her first briefing of the King and the Prime Minister without her former boss being there. Also present was the Director of the Hawaiian Intelligence Sean O'Malley III, Chairman,of the Joint Chiefs, and the Chief of Naval Operations .
 
At Midway Island the Hawaiian Space Authority launched its Lunar mission. It would see an Hawaiian-British_German Crew launched on a Mission designed to land a team on the Moon. It was expected to take 10 days.. Preplanning was starting on a second mission to launch in Mid-September.
 
Honolulu : The Hawaiian Space authority announced to the world a successful launch. The Ship was orbiting the earth in preparation for a go to the Moon. All Systems were responding perfectly. . The Lunar Mission was given the approval to begin the break away from earth orbit and a movement to the moon. Stations in Ireland, India and Australia continued to monitor the mission. The Hawaiian Monarch was quite excited and pleased that his country was leading this mission.
 
The Hawaiian Space Authority announced two days latter that Lunar I was prepared to detached its landing vehicle for a lunar landing. Thus the Hawaiian and the German would land on the Moon and wouild spend 2 days exploring and taking samples before blasting off to reconnect to the space capsule.
 
Tranquility Base The Eagle has Landed came the reply from the Lunar Lander. There were Cheers in all of the Space facilities throughout the world. Mankind had finally landed on the moon.
 
The Hawaiian Colonel stated that their small steps were a giant leap for Mankind as a whole. Human kind had now reach out beyond the Earth and nothing would be the same.. The two took samples and surveyed the location. Taking lots of photos and planting the flags of the Three nations and another flag designated the Terran Union Flag
 
Blasting off from the moon the two crewmen guided their vessel to join up with the capsule and they transferred to it bringing the samples with them. then began the long journey back to Earth. With everything going as planned the space capsule should land in the Pacific and the Royal Hawaiian Navy would collect it.
 
1980 The National Conservative Party won the election of 1980 in the Kingdom of Hawaii. The won 180 out of the 320 seats. The Liberal Party came in second with 120 seats and the Hawaiian Social Democrat Party came in 3rd with just 20 seats.George W Kamehameha was re-elected as the Prime Minister. He was considered to be a man who got things done. The Space Program was considered a success but there were calls from the Social Democrats to a scaling back of spending on Space. But so far the Liberal Party continued to support the idea. Hawaii was partnered with the British Commonwealth and Germany. There was a proposal that the United States and Austria was going to join the Space Program. Hawaii was considering inviting the Brazilian Empire to also join the alliance.
 
General Wilcox, Chairman of the Hawaiian Joint Chiefs of Staff informed both the Prime Minister and the King that he would be retiring as of June 1,1981, The General was just worn out from the stress of the job but had enjoyed his military Career. Among the people being considered for the post of Chairman was the Current Chief of Naval Operations William Kamehameha. The Admiral, who had served as the Chief of the Royal Hawaiian Intelligence Agency had enjoyed being back in the Navy that he loved. He had overseen the Navy part in the operation. He was regarded as a man who could direct the Military and see the big picture.
 
Colonel Lee Chan of the Royal Hawaiian Army had been placed in command of the advisory force sent to Peru. The Colonel was of Chinese Ancestry but his people had lived in Hawaii since the 1860s. He was a graduate of the Military academy and had seen action in a number of areas including the Caroline Islands, His immediate former assignment had been as part of the Hawaiian force establishing the DMZ. He had however served in Central America. He spoke Chinese, Hawaiian English, Japanese, Spanish and Russian. General Vega said that the Colonel spoke Spanish not like the people of the Americas but of Spain. The Colonel was a can do guy and had gotten every assignment he was given accomplished,
