Divided States of America
Divided States of America's POD is shortly after the Compromise of 1850, which caused mass outrage in the North and South. A further Compromise is made in 1851 which stops slavery from being abolished for 20 years, in exchange, Utah is made a state. This splits the country further, with secession movements growing in New England and the South. In the 1852 Election, Franklin Pierce and a new Congress vote to dissolve the United States of America into individual countries based off states and territories. Some unite together through peace, others through war. Some go the path of republicanism and democracy, while others go the path of imperialism and nationalism. This is a currently active timeline.
