Hails from Aberdeenshire in the north-east of Scotland, near HRH Alex Salmond's humble abode. His username was formally The British Scotsman due to the fact that one, he was a Scotsman who thinks of himself as British as well, and second, he lacked any imagination regarding usernames.

He was (and possibly still is) editor of the AH.com Newspaper.

He is also a member of The Politibrits, being noted for supporting Labour despite coming from a rural area where Labour are usually considered unelectable.
