In February of 2010 Northstar was banned for repeated “petty and mean spirited” trolling. This was not an isolated offense; Northstar had been kicked previously for his offensive tone and savage wit. There is some evidence to suggest that Ian opted to crack down on troublemakers and his patience with Northstar ran out.
