Another thing:
Disney's Toontown Online is still alive after twenty years, with features from Toontown Rewritten and even some from Corporate Clash (eg. Boardbots and Zap gags) being in it. The game also has added Cow, Goat, Chicken and Sheep toons sometime during the late 2010s. and yes, the game also has Deers, because WHAT TOONTOWN SERVER DOESN'T HAVE THOSE ANNOYING TOONS IN 2023?

Something tells me you side with Man nowadays.

My thoughts on how I would have liked to have seen The Owl House play out if Disney hadn't screwed them out of a proper third season and forced Season 2 to cram all the plot development into its back half:

* More slice of life filler episodes, such as letting us actually see a Lumity date, or a beach episode like Eda suggested in "O Titan, Where Art Thou".
* An episode that explores the Bat Queen's origins, since "Escape of the Palisman" set up that intriguing backstory of her having belonged to giant, but never followed up on it.
* "Hollow Mind" acts as the Season 2 finale, ending the season on the cliffhanger of all those reveals about Belos and Hunter.
* The remaining OTL Season 2 episodes form the first half of Season 3, along with a few new filler episodes such as seeing more of the CATs in action or having the Titan Trappers return as antagonists again (rather than reducing them to a cameo that doesn't explain how they got to the Boiling Isles), culminating with "King's Tide" acting as the midseason finale.
* The back half of Season 3 spends several episodes in the Human Realm, actually showing the Hexsquad adjusting to living there and dealing with the emotional fallout of everything that happened, as well as actually getting to know Masha as a supporting character, alternating with showing what's happening in the Demon Realm so that we don't go too long without seeing Eda, King, and the others.
* And finally, the last episodes play out as OTL, with the significant exception that Flapjack doesn't die, because that was heartbreaking.

This is great!

Postman Pat's second season didn't take 15 years to come out. Instead, Woodland Productions saw Pat as their main priority from the first airing of the series up until their unfortunate closing in 2001. Unlike OTL, HIT Entertainment bought the postman.
List of seasons pre-buyout, episode numbers in brackets:
Series 1 (1981): Same as OTL (1-13)
1982: Postman Pat Takes the Bus airs
Series 2 (1983): Uses OTL Series 2's episodes (14-26)
1985: Postman Pat and the Greendale Rocket airs
Series 3 (1987): Uses episodes from the first half of OTL Series 3 without moving mouths and with the removed characters (27-39)
Series 4 (1989): Uses episodes from the second half of OTL Series 3 without moving mouths and with the removed characters (40-52)
1992: Postman Pat and the Tuba airs. Same as OTL except that the Bains family appears
Series 5 (1995): Uses episodes from the first half of OTL Series 4 without moving mouths and with the removed characters (53-65)
Series 6 (1998): Uses episodes from the second half of OTL Series 4 without moving mouths and with the removed characters (66-78)
1999: Postman Pat Clowns Around airs
Series 7 (2000): Uses episodes from the first half of OTL Series 5 without moving mouths and with the removed characters (79-91)
In total, the original run has 91 episodes. HIT would make Series 8 in 2003 and Series 9 in 2004, and the series is still going with Series 18 airing just this year. Current episodss count is 377.
Here's this timeline's HIT content for Postman Pat, there is no SDS:
Series 8 (2003) Episodes 92-117
Series 9 (2004) Episodes 118-143
Series 10 (2006) Episodes 144-169
Series 11 (2009) Episodes 170-195
Series 12 (2011) Episodes 196-221
Series 13 (2012) Episodes 222-247
Series 14 (2015) Episodes 248-273
Series 15 (2017) Episodes 274-299
Series 16 (2019) Episodes 300-325
Series 17 (2022) Episodes 326-351
Series 18 (2023) Episodes 352-377

No, HIT doesn't turn anything into CGI cashgrabs ITTL. The only torture to anything is Fireman Sam's sudden cancellation in 2010.

Yoshi's Story for the Nintendo 64 has six more levels - one more each world. So that the game has 30 instead of 24 levels (31 instead of 25, if You also count the "Practice level").

The fifth level of world 1 is in the level 1-setting, but at night and with a unique soundtrack.
The fifth level of world 2 is in a completely new and unique (cavern-)setting with unique soundtrack (maybe smaller parts of it being a remix of the classical Super Mario Bros. underground-soundtrack), with sub-level areas in the style of level 2-2.
The fifth level of world 3 is a tower-level like 3-2, but with snowy/white platforms and with snow fall. Soundtrack is the same as the rainy outdoor area of 6-2. The boss of this level is a surprise for Yoshi's Island lovers: It's Marching Milde, the mid-boss of world 4 in Yoshi's Island and works pretty much the same way.
The fifth level of world 4 is a hut-level like 4-1, but more complex, with a big sub-level area in the style of 4-3.
The fifth level of world 5 is an underwater-level like 5-1 and 5-2. The small "overwater" sub-level areas are in the style of (my new) 1-5. Another (larger) sub-level area is in the style of 2-2, but with water and water-blarggs (Nep-Enuts), instead of lava and blarggs.
The fifth level of world 6 is a castle-level in the style of 6-1, in which you always have to dodge Kamek's spells. Also Pak E. Derm, the "Stop sign-elephant" of 1-1, appears here on many places of the level.

Because of the fifth levels, you can collect four, instead of three big hearts in every level.

There is also one more fruit to collect: The peach, which is the Lucky Fruit of the pink Yoshi (instead of the apple).

In every first level, you can collect 30 water melons when you play with green Yoshi,
in every second level, you can collect 30 peaches when you play with pink Yoshi,
in every third level, you can collect 30 blue grapes when you play with either light or dark blue Yoshi,
in every fourth level, you can collect 30 bananas when you play with yellow Yoshi,
in every fifth level, you can collect 30 apples when you play with red Yoshi,

There is also an option to switch on/off the music and (/or) the SFX. Also in the game there is a sound- and music test included.

Now for some weirdness:
Cars 1 has all sponsors from Cars 3 and vice-versa. Terry Kargas also looks like his diecast in the third film, as he's in this timeline's version of Cars 1. Kevin Racingtire, Slider Petrolski and Greg Candyman return in Cars 3. In both movies team Revolting's number is 48
Bob the Builder comes out in late 1989, since the creator was already developing it by then.

Huge ramble incoming aaa

Gaming:

-Gaming in general is a lot less focused on graphics and more on content. Most games TTL still look like OTL's xbox 360 era.
-Nintendo still releases an analogue to the Wii U, while it still underperforms it doesn't do as bad as OTL (Mainly due to not having Wii in the name, let's tentatively name this console "Nintendo NX")
-As a result, the Nintendo switch comes out as a much more powerful console than OTL.
-Nintendo also drops their "No price drops" policy when it comes to their own games.
-Instead of entering the console market, Microsoft decides to instead promote PC as ultimate gaming platforms.
-Zeebo doesn't flop and becomes a success as the people's alternative for gaming. The current gen console, Zeebo Alfa is performing amazingly in Brazil, India, Indonesia, Nigeria and Mexico, receiving ports for games from the 7th generation of consoles.
-Gacha game model never makes it outside mobile
-Activision goes bankrupt, call of duty never makes it past their ww2 games.
-EA goes bankrupt after an alternate version of the Sims 2 flops and never gets to buy anything.
-Black is this TL's gold standard for shooters.
-Doom 3 is wildly different, basically a much earlier version of Doom eternal.
-Daikatana comes out a pretty solid game.
-Alex Gembe never leaks the Half life 2 beta. With less worries, Valve makes a longer game with some extra chapters.
-Half life episode three releases shortly after episode two. We also get Return to Ravenholm, a spinoff where corporal Adrian Shephard fights through hordes of Combine and Zombies alongside Father Grigori. Half life 3 has been scheduled for release by 2024, aiming to be Valve's longest and most massive game.
-The heavy update comes out in 2020. The TF2 comics gets more releases.
-Metal gear rising retains it's original plot, Raiden fights the patriots and rescues Sunny. A sequel with OTL's MGR plot comes out later in 2021.
-MGS4 gets a pc port.
-Shantae, Dante, The doomslayer, Gordon Freeman, Sub zero/Scorpion, Kratos, Leon S.Kennedy and Reimu Hakurei all make it to smash ultimate as playable characters.
-Xenoblade X gets a Switch port in 2018. Shulk ends up with Melia instead of Fiora in xenoblade 1, their half-entia kid shows up later in Xenoblade 3 Future redeemed.

Bethesda (They get their own section cuz they're my childhood):

-TES4 Oblivion has about the same storyline as OTL's, but it takes place in High Rock instead of Cyrodiil. Cyrodiil is still a lush Khemer style jungle.
-Oblivion also has a better leveling system and levitation spells.
-Fallout 3 has a similar story but it takes place in Oregon instead of Washington DC. Plus you can join the enclave or just not help the brotherhood if you don't feel like it.
-Some shifts in the industry cause TES5 to go full back to Morrowind's hardcore RPG system rather than cut down features and make already existing ones lamer.
-Skyrim's combat is also a lot more polished, including a combo system for melee oriented playstyle, becoming the gold standard when it comes to 1st person combat gameplay.
-Storywise, the entirety of the dragon plot is dropped, instead the game's storyline focuses on political intrigue with the Thalmor as the main villains, who destabilize the empire from the inside. The stormcloaks seek a full on revival of the ancient nordic pantheon rather than worshiping Talos. You also have the option to join the Thalmor or make yourself High king of Skyrim through conquest.
-Obsidian gets full time to finish Fallout New Vegas, creating a game with very few bugs and all of OTL's cut content making it to retail.
-After New Vegas's sound success, Bethesda handles the fallout ip to Obsidian.
-Fallout 4 is set in NYC instead of Boston. Instead of the brotherhood, we get a very similar power armor clad faction composed of the post war remnants of the US army. The whole institute plot still exists but is a lot better written. As a byproduct of this, the railroad don't end up as the clown faction of the game.
-With Bethesda never making fallout 76, they finish Starfield earlier in 2018, taking direct inspirations from Obsidian's fallout games.
-TES6, set in High rock, has just released, including conquest elements from games like Mount and blade. The game revolves around the Redguard's stand against the combined forces of the Dominion and the Empire.
-Fallout: New Orleans has been scheduled for release by 2025.

TV:

-A last minute deal is reached and the Writer's guild strike of 2007 never happens.
-Watchmen is made into a 6 episode miniseries rather than a movie, retaining OTL's cast. It's also directed by someone who follows the og comic color palettes.
-Breaking bad has an arc in season 5 involving Walt Jr. Finding Walt's meth and devolving into a drug addiction.
-GOT get's a better ending,

Music:

-Reggaeton gets popular in the early 2010's before everyone gets sick tired of it and fades into obscurity.
-Salsa, Cumbia, Romantic pop ala Luis Miguel, Rock bands influenced directly by Soda stereo and latin american indigenous rap and metal are the norm in Latin american music.
-Juanes makes a metal side band.
-Ricardo Arjona less popular, Chayanne even more popular.
-Shakira makes rock instead.
-American pop dies out in the late 2000's. Metal and Synthwave are a lot more mainstream and are common to be heard in the radio.
-Rap resembles older 90's rap. Trap is not a thing.

Movies:

-John Boorman's crazy LOTR movie gets made. Peter Jackson's movies get made too and are exactly as OTL. Rather than a stretched Hobbit trilogy, we get a single epic 3 hour movie.
-Zack Snyder directs V for Vendetta instead, resulting in a gritty and extremely accurate adapation. The Wachowsky's instead direct the MGS1 live action, starring David Hayter himself as Snake.
-George Miller's Justice league mortal is the start of this tl's DCEU
-Avengers: Endgame is vastly different, with the avengers traveling back in time only to mess up the timeline even more. In the end, the effects of the snap are not reversed.
-Hulk is casted as Mark Ruffalo since the beggining. A world war Hulk movie is made.
-Iron man 3 is better written, the stupid mandarin plot doesn't happen and the movie focuses on extremis instead.
-Thor: Love and thunder is never made.
-Sam Raimi is given full creative liberty for Dr. Strange 2
-Same with Spiderman 3, the movie focuses on Sandman and Harry as the main villains with the black suit as a small subplot.
-Sam Raimi makes Spiderman 4 with Kingpin as the main villain. The story loosely resembles that of OTL's Back in black.
-Andrew Garfield's Amazing spiderman 3 is made, a loose adaptation of the comic's clone saga.
-Instead of Tom Holland casted as a new spiderman, we get Maguire as the MCU's spiderman in Civil war, who mentors a live action version of Miles Morales who is to take his mantle after endgame.
-Stanley Kubrick's Napoleon gets made, becoming the highest grossing film of the 20th century.
-Disney doesn't drop on 2D animation. Frozen is made in 2D.
-Disney never buys Star wars.
-The sequel trilogy of star wars comes out in the 1990's adaptating of the Thrawn trilogy
-The prequel trilogy comes out in the 2010's.

Comic books:

-The comic code authority never happens.
-Without the CCA, the american comic industry is a lot less hyperfocused in superheroes and there's a lot more variety similar to japanese manga.
-One more day doesn't happen, Aunt May is allowed to die and Peter continues married.
-The Sins past storyline is never even thought of.

Anniemay and mango:

-Due to societal changes in Japan in the 90's, sexual harassment in anime becomes much less of the norm and discouraged.
-Anime designs are a lot less moe'y and more varied.
-Pokemon anime is an adaptation of Pokespecial instead
-Berserk gets a proper anime in the 2000's, adapting Black swordsman all the way to the end of conviction arc. A sequel titled "Berserk: The millenium falcon" is currently in emision, adapting from the namesake arc to the current Fantashia arc.
-Giorno shows up in Jojo's part 6.
-Vinland saga gets an earlier anime.
-Saint seiya gets the Hades saga as part of the actual anime instead of being made into movies. Plus, the Zeus saga actually goes somewhere.
-SAO never exists, the Isekai power fantasies of the 2010's are butterflied away.
-Neither does Mirai nikki, no Yandere trend in anime fan circles in the early 2010's.
-Oda has better pacing and One piece is a lot shorter.
-Fate stay night gets a kickass anime adaptation with an equally kickass latin spanish dub.
-Naruto: Orochimaru kills Sasuke and becomes a huge foe throughout shipudden after getting his body. Itachi is portrayed as a genocidal loser instead of a victim emo boy and gets murdered by Danzo. Nagato doesn't revive anyone. Hinata stays dead. Sakura is a much better written and sympathetic character and ends up with Naruto. Obito is never made into a character, Tobi is revealed to be Danzo instead. Madara is the final boss of the series, Kaguya is never made into a character.
-Boruto ain't made lol.
-Dragon ball GT is better written and more appreciated. Goku becomes adult again after turning ssj4.
-Dragon ball super is never made. The super movies (Except for Fukkatsu no F) do still get made tho.
-Bleach anime is continued.

People:

-Gustavo Ceratti never gets a stroke, he eventually retires and lives a fullfilling happy rest of his life.
-Chester Bennington doesn't take his own life and still does music to this day.
-Heath Ledger lives and goes to receive his 2009 oscar himself.
-Steve Irwin retired from TV a little while ago and has a youtube channel where he uploads animal facts and shows them on camera. He also leads multiple non-profit organizations for rescue and preservation of endangered species worldwide.
-Kentaro Miura has excellent health and has no intention to stop drawing anytime soon.
-Gloria Trevi and Sergio Andrade end up in jail in Brazil.

In fact, metal is much more widespread in Latin America than in the USA, and its consumption is much wider than even in Europe or Japan. Not to mention that the Brazilian scene is one of the strongest in several genres. For me, a better alternative would be for Sepultura to actually explore indigenous folk music in depth, instead of going into mediocre groove metal underneath the drum wrap.

-Anime designs are a lot less moe'y and more varied.
Moe blobs have been around since the beginning of commercial animation - get over it.
-Berserk gets a proper anime in the 90's.
Manga wasn't even finished.
-SAO never exists, the Isekai genre is butterflied away.
There was isekai before SAO - and even about isekai in video games (hi Wataru - by the way, the first two anime are really entertaining, I recommend watching. If you have a child or a younger sublings, then show it - it’s really fun.)
-Neither does Mirai nikki, no Yandere trend in anime fan circles.
The Lady from the Palace on Rokujo - Ara-Ara, didn't think that the barbarians would be so ignorant.
Hinata stays dead.
Maybe Sakura is better, but such villainy is yuresenai!

Hello! First, thanks for reviewing this thing lmao. Second, I wrote this half sleep at like 1 am so yeah some of my ideas didn't translate perfectly into words lmao, i'll correct some of them:

1.Berserk definitely didn't have that much material in the 90's, the 97 anime basically adapted what existed atm, dunno why i placed it specifically in the 90's, so i'll probably edit it and place it on the 2000's/2010's when there are more arcs to adapt.

2.I'm well aware isekai genre existed a while ago before sao (Inuyasha, Digimon, etc...) What i meant with Isekai here is these power fantasy self insert series that got so popular in the late 2010's, my fault for generalizing here.

Rest of your points are fair, specially the one regarding metal in latin america. In my ideal world i'd wish for bands like Angra to get some more deserved recognition worldwide.
Thanks and have a good day! ^^

Well, Mizuho from Semblant complained that metal artists don't get much time on the radio, but even in Finland only one in six radio stations include metal in their program (although I saw Adre Matos (former frontman of Angra) with Shaman recorded for TV). But there you can find shopping centers specializing in metal merchandising. You don't see this everywhere.
Thanks and have a good day! ^^

Make it a more normal console, and it could attract people.

Nice.

Ok.

Cool. Is Watchmen an animated series or live-action?

Cool!

THIS!

I want to see!

?????

Some of this I can get behind.

Cool.
Hello Otakuninja! Thanks for reviewing my thread

1.At first i didn't care a lot about Sega writing this but thinking about it i think i'd like for them to survive at least another generation to fill the gap left by Xbox ittl, since i don't want to disrupt OTL's status quo of the big three when it comes to consoles. Plus, Xbox was considered by many the spiritual succesor of the dreamcast since they shared a lot of titles iirc. Expect a 7th gen sega console tentatively named Sega Jupiter.

2.I think Zeebo was a fun concept and i agree, it would've done better selling physical format games. Cuz i really doubt the demographic they were aiming at understood the entire online purchase thing.

3.TTL Watchmen is also a live action, i think it makes sense that way given the comic's premise of a realistic stance on superheroes. Plus I really think the movie nailed it with most of the cast, i just wish it would've been a show to not cut so much of the story, and also, because this movie was directed by Snyder that meant everything had to be le dark and griddy so a thing i like a lot about the comic which is the color palettes got lost in that process.

4.Same, i'm of the idea the industry never recovered as a whole from the corrosive effects of the CCA. In this world there's superhero stuff but there's also a lot of horror comics, EC comics is one of the big three alongside Marvel and DC, never stopping publishing horror and suspense. They tried jumping at the cinematic universe bandwagon in the 2010's only to drop the idea after their 3rd movie flopped. Popular are also High Fantasy comics, exploring concepts fantasy books usually don't get to like the effects of prolonged immortality in fantasy races and Neo-pulp comics, that are usually gritty af and follow morally dubious urban anti-heroes in either cyberpunk or neo-western settings. The mexican diaspora has also brought mexican publications like Kaliman or Aguila solitaria into popularity in the southwest US, with Kaliman going as far as to getting a mid-budget movie in the 2000's.

You're welcome.

Right, and I heard that it was originally gonna be backwards compatible with the Dreamcast. Maybe Microsoft comes up with the idea of the Xbox, but sells it to Sega, but at the same time, Microsoft entered the field because they feared the PS2 was gonna kill PCs.

Right, and having some REAL games that can appeal to everyone, kinda like a Nintendo competitor, but a bit more mature than Nintendo.

Really?

Right, and ouch for EC, but does EC have superheroes? I could see them buying Charlton.

Cool! Who is Kaliman?

With the same POD as Blue Skies in Camelot (Marilyn Monroe lives):

--Film--
  • JFK survives, and becomes a successful two-term President
  • 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) wins Best Picture instead of Oliver!
  • Michael Powell gets to make his Wizard of Earthsea film.
  • Sergio Leone lives long enough to finish his Leningrad: The 900 Days film.
  • Judith Barsi is never murdered, and goes on to voice Linda in Phineas and Ferb.
  • River Phoenix never overdoses, and has multiple Oscars.
  • The MCU isn't as prevalent as in OTL, and is seen as just a series of dumb action films.
  • Instead of buying Turner outright, Warner Bros. only reacquired the pre-1950 films and pre-1949 Looney Tunes shorts from Turner.
  • Disney never bought 20th Century Fox.
--Home Video--
  • Every home video release of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and Spartacus (1960) is in widescreen due to Kubrick refusing to issue a Pan and Scan version.
  • These widescreen releases are a success, and inspires Paramount to issue Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) in both fullscreen and widescreen options.
  • The Walt Disney Classics release of Sleeping Beauty (1959) is the first widescreen only release by Disney. It features an introduction explaining Letterboxing.
--Gaming--
  • The NES has support for Konami's mappers outside Japan, resulting in Gradius II getting localized and Castlevania III maintaining its VRC6 soundtrack outside Japan.
  • Final Fantasy IV is the killer app for the SNES, and kickstarts the JRPG's popularity outside Japan 6 years ahead of OTL.
  • The Philips SNES-CD launches in November 1993.
  • Final Fantasy VI is a cartridge SNES exclusive that features a vocalized opera thanks to Wolfteam's help.
  • Terranigma gets a US release on both the SNES and the SNES-CD.
  • The Darkest Ritual and The Darkest Night are PS1 exclusives published by Ubisoft.
  • EA goes bankrupt due to losing the Sega lawsuit like in Minus World.
--Music--

  • Herbert von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic recorded the same program as the famous 1808 Beethoven concert in 1977.
  • Selena Quintanilla-Perez survives thanks to the SNES-CD game Frederico.
  • Justin Bieber never makes it big.
