Asami presents a shameless rip off, created from an idea made by Danderns and (shamelessly) pirated off the format lead by my dear friend Upvoteanthology.

Wikibox of the Fortnight!
Contest Entry

Wikiboxes made for WoTF must meet the restrictions placed upon it by the topic, and whether the wikibox meets these restrictions will be determined by whoever is judging the contest. These wikiboxes should not be wikiboxes made beforehand, but instead should be specifically made for the contest. Wikiboxes that are entered into the contest should be submitted before the contest deadline in the entry thread, although one is free to make any alterations they want once submitted before the deadline passes. Once the deadline is officially reached, submitted wikiboxes cannot be changed and will be voted on as submitted.

Challenges

What the contest topic will end up being will be determined in this thread, through suggestions placed by everyone here. Suggestions for the topic in this thread will be bolded, and anyone is free to suggest a topic at any moment in time. What the topic will end up being will be determined by popular approval in this thread, as whatever suggested topic that is seconded the most will be the one that we are using for that week.

Entering/Voting

Submissions for each contest will be submitted to a different thread each contest that will focus on entries, and anyone is able to submit a contest entry for about two week, usually from a Monday until the next Sunday. After the deadline from which no more wiki-boxes can be submitted, another thread with a collection of the entries will be made with a poll where we can vote on the entries listed below, and this poll will be open for exactly a week.

When submitting wikiboxes, you must submit accompanying write-ups with context. It does not need to be super long, just enough to convey an understandable background and context, so that it isn't confusing.

In conclusion, each contest will be done after a period of about three weeks, although multiple contests will be running consecutively so that we don't have to wait three weeks for the next contest.

Threads

For further clarification, there will be three threads per contest.

Main Thread: This one, where contest ideas will be submitted and eventually voted on.

Entries Thread: There will be one for each specific contest where people can submit wikiboxes for a period of about two weeks.

Voting Thread: There will also be one of these for each contest, and all the submitted boxes will be displayed here along with a poll that will be open exactly for a week where we can vote on the submitted items below.

Brewster's Millions

Part One:
The Miracle Of Manhattan

nyc-png.299995

Minor League Baseball player and heir, Monty Brewster, was an unlikely man and an unlikely candidate.

But this is New York City, and as they say, anything can happen here.

When Brewster inherited a fortune from his recently deceased uncle, he also inherited an eccentric bargain. If Brewster were to inherit his Uncle's entire 300 million dollar fortune, Brewster would be forced to spend exactly 30 million within 30 days. Not an easy task given that he cannot own any assets by the end of the month, nor can he run off and throw away the money.

His idea -- start a political campaign for "None Of The Above".

In a dirty and confrontational campaign, that even led to lawsuits by the other two competing candidates, None Of The Above was expected to lose out narrowly to incumbent Mayor Koch, and win or lose, Monty Brewster was expected to run off with his new 300 million fortune and retire to some tropical island or cabin in the mountains.

Brewster got more than he bargained for...

Full Results:

✓ Monty Brewster - 34%

Ed Koch [D] - 34%
Rudy Giuliani [R] - 21%
None Of The Above - 11%

If @Asami doesn't mind, a further clarification of the rules based off of MoTF:

There, it's added to the OP. Now, let's start the discussion on the first WOTF, what topic should we do? Abe's 'baseball and politics' one has some promise, anybody got some ideas?

Maybe a more general "fictional characters" or "fictional characters in politics" prompt?

Challenge, fictional characters in a non-US election. Because I'm tired of American election infoboxes. :p

I want a wikibox competition about alternate dog breeds (or animals in general). Been seeing a lot of those lately and they're really good.

Question: Do we have to make a write-up to the boxes as well? (I assume yes)

What do you think about my suggestion?

Alternative animal breeds? Very interesting, particularly if we expand it to 'alternative domestications' as well. :p

Ideas thus far:

- Famous sports icons in politics (US/non-US)
- Fictional non-US elections (anything goes)
- Alternative animal breeds/domestication
