I know proper historical information on the Sea Peoples, except for Egyptian accounts, is hard to come about, but basically... what if, during the Bronze Age Collapse in the 12th century BCE, the coalition of possibly Italian mediterranean tribes known as the Sea Peoples ends up conquering Lower Egypt? That is, the Nile Delta region.
What are the cultural effects on the area?
Could one of the Sea Peoples' tribes end up unifying the whole of the Lower Nile region, from Memphis northwards? If this happens and Egypt remains divided for some centuries between a comercially well-connected north and a relatively isolated but still militaristic south, what are the effects on the MENA region? Could the Pheonician alphabet end up spreading to Lower Egypt, to be then appropriated and developed into another script?

Well, culturally speaking i expect them to more or less assimilate, especially so long as there are proper Egyptians upstream.

If they ally with or subjugate the Philistines, which is quite possibe if they have cultural and linguistic similarities (as seems possible, Ive seen it proposed that the 'Peshet' of Egyptian sources referred to one of the Sea Peoples) this could result in the Israelites biting off more than they can chew, with substantial consequences...
