Did FInland and Poland have different outcomes as Russian protectorates?
I think regardless of who wins the civil war, Finland and Poland are going to stay far away from Russia.

While Poland was part of the Russian Empire didn't the empire try to Russify the Poles?
Roman Dmowski favored the cooperation with the Russian Empire, but simply because the russification policies, though hostile, hadn't been effective. Meanwhile the German Empire was introducing the colonisation of the "german" part of Poland, and Dmowski believed that if nothing is done about that, soon the "german" part of Poland will be lost. For Dmowski the cooperation with the Russians was simply a lesser evil, or rather the one that is easier to endure. And it wasn't about being the loyal Russians, bur rather about counting on war.Oddly Poland itself had I think more of a Russian empire loyalists tilt possibly due to them being on the direct frontline with Germany seeing the army as possible protectors of their homes, it lasted till the Russian got crushed in WW1 and once it became clear they where not coming back evaporated while Finland just saw it as a oppressive force given they faced no danger of invasion.
Fair that's a better way to describe it than loyalist and once the hope of of actual Polish state happened did not last.Roman Dmowski favored the cooperation with the Russian Empire, but simply because the russification policies, though hostile, hadn't been effective. The intensity of the Germanization campaign varied depending on the Prussian government, but it was indeed in a particularly severe phase after 1880. The 1890 census shows a 60% Polish population in Poznan/Posen. The efficacy of this campaign, however, seems to have been marginal--the 1910 census showed basically the same Pole:German ratio in Posen and West Prussia as in 1890. If the number of Poles of German descent who picked Poland over Germany after 1918 and after 1939 is any indication, the campaign to win local hearts and minds was also ineffective. Before Germany lost WWI how far along had its germanisation campaign in the Polish territory it controlled?
The lands remained overwhelmingly polish, but nevertheless the life was harsh. The german officials tried to germanise the lands through the things such as forbidding for the Poles to build the houses or buy the estates, or enforcing the declarations that the Poles must once again pay for their estates or they will go to the Germans. The Poles used to organise the societies with voluntary financial contribution to accumulate money just in case if some family would suddenly need it to don't lose a house. Plus the usage of various bureaucratic loopholes for the polish advantage. Dmowski nevertheless believed, that this resistance in the long turn only slows down the influx of Germans. Before Germany lost WWI how far along had its germanisation campaign in the Polish territory it controlled?
I think regardless of who wins the civil war Russia is going to try to reconquer Finland, Ukraine, the Baltics, and Poland.I think regardless of who wins the civil war, Finland and Poland are going to stay far away from Russia.
