WI: Portuguese Banda Oriental in 1812?

In 1811-1812, amid the chaos of the Platine independence movements, Portugal saw an opportunity to realize its long dream of having a "natural frontier" at the Río de la Plata, and sent a military expedition to the region.
While successful, the expedition had to end and Portugal was forced to retreat due to British pressure and some military successes by the Oriental resistance.
The POD is that the British decide to allow Portugal to control Uruguay as long as it doesn't threaten the Argentines, and that the Argentines give up fighting against the Portuguese.
What would be the impacts of an earlier Portuguese Uruguay, and how would it impact Brazil, and South America more broadly?

Brazil's position in the Banda Oriental will probably be much stronger once independence comes around, since the region will be ruled by Rio de Janeiro for almost a decade instead of just a few years like IOTL. There may not even be a Cisplatine War ITTL, which will do wonders for Pedro I's position - though he'll probably still abdicate, just a few years later. Even then, Pedro II's childhood will likely be very different.

Pedro II may not even exist ITTL, as he was born in 1825
