WI: More Devestating 1943 Vatican Bombing

Delta Force

Banned
In 1943 an unknown aircraft from either the British, American, German, or Italian military dropped four bombs over the Vatican. They fell in the Vatican Gardens near the Vatican Radio receiver, Vatican Tribunal (diplomatic housing), a mosaics workshop, and the Vatican Archpriest's office. What if the bombs had fallen more to the East, hitting the far more densely built areas of the Vatican such as St. Peters Basilica, the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican Museums, and the Papal Apartments? What if it also turned out that the bombs had been deliberately dropped by a British or American pilot?

You might end up killing the Pope, which would devastate close to a billion and a half people.

uh,no? There were what,800 million christians in the world at that time, half of them catholic? Even if every single catholic alive would be "devasted" by that (highly doubtful),that falls pretty short of 1,5 billion

Hundreds of millions of people would be devastated for sure.
