WI: Indian removal act fails to pass

as the title says what if somehow for some reason the titular act fails to make enough votes in congress and never passes into law?

What consequences would this lead to?

More than likely, by this point, violence between Natives and land hungry settlers was bound to flare up. And the US government will ultimately side with settlers. At best Natives would be pushed in the mountains and hills, where they may gain reservations at some point.

Hunh! I assumed it would have passed by a huge margin - and it did in the Senate, apparently 28-19.
But the House vote was 101-97, so it's believable that it could fail to pass.

However, as othersyde says, it might not make that much of a difference in the long run. The natives (or most of them) are likely to get forced out one way or another.

Unfortunately.
