WI: Evert follows Brusilov

What if, during World War I, russian general Evert, who was given orders to attack simontaneously with Brusilov during the Brusilov Offensive (1916) yet decided to take a defensive approach, had manned up and actually assumed an offensive attack on the territories occupied by Germany until then?
Would the romanians decide to declare war on Austria-Hungary earlier than OTL?
Would this be enough to breack the neck of the Central Powers and end the war before Russia falls to revolution?
If so, then how different will be the peace terms for the CP and the spoils of war for the Entente?

Russia could take a lot of territory in Austria-Hungary, but eventually supply issues would force them to stop and dig in. Evert could tie up the Germans enough to stop them from reinforcing the Austrians with forces sufficient to repel Brusilov's attack, but with Evert in command the northern Russian armies are unlikely to break through the German lines.

Depending on how much of the pannonian basin Brusilov is able to occupy, will he be able to link up with the serbs?

Too late for Serbia. A combined attack by Bulgaria, Austria and Germany had taken the country in the winter of 1915-16. The Serbian army and government were evacuated from the Adriatic coast a few months before Brusilov's offensive was launched.

The Serbian army was later reassembled on the Salonika front in Northern Greece, but that was a long way from the Russians.

Could the Russians reach the Hungarian Plain or will they still be held east of the Carpathians?

If Evert adopted the same tactic as Brusilov, he would have caused more than sufficient difficulties for the Germans to prevent them from supporting the Austrians.

Any attack in the north is going to be a bloodbath for the russians. The russians were badly defeated in the Lake Naroch Offensive https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Naroch_Offensive

I highly doubt the german reinforcements would have drastically changed given the circumstances
Lake Naroch was launched using older tactics and against a narrow front. It is a horrid analogy to what is envisioned in the Brusilov offensive. In any case, the objective wasn't limited to a breakthrough, though that would be nice, but was really aimed at preventing the Germans from helping the Austrians

Evert isn't Brusilov, his tactics won't change based on Brusilovs plan.
