What if more Americans rescued in the Canadian Caper?

Was reading the book Argo, which details the planning and extraction of six American diplomats who avoided the hostage crisis and hid out in the Canadian Embassy in Tehran. In the book, I learned that there were another group of six Americans in the consul building who exited to the street, but turned down a different street than the ones who were taken in by the Canadians, and ran into the angry protesters. What if they took another path or the same path to the British embassy that the others went? Or what if they went to another embassy? Would the Canadians be able to get them out of Iran too? Or would the amount of people be too much and cause a problem? Your thoughts...
