What if Mauritius wasn't discovered until the 20th century?

What may happen to the Dodos (and what would they be called ITTL) and the wildlife of the planet, and who would take it?

Pretty much ASB that it couldn't be found by 1900. It is not that small and is close of all naval routes so it would be inevitably found earlier.

Yeah no doubt it would be known about, I suppose maybe it could have been ruled by Oman or Persia and the great powers were ok with it (better than another power having a naval base).
