The Super Sequel for a Big Hit: A Collaborative TL

1986: Nintendo announces that what was going to be Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels IOTL to be cancelled, therefore announcing that what what was going to be Super Mario Bros. 3 IOTL will become Super Mario Bros. 2 ITTL.

On a side-note, Super Mario Bros. 2 ITTL is kinda like OTL’s Super Mario Bros. 3, except with different sprites for Luigi, Toad and Princess Peach being playable along with the Mario Bros., and even a new main villain that wasn’t Bowser this time (Keep in mind, Bowser still appears in this game, albeit as a pawn working for the aforementioned new main villain).

Is anyone gonna respond to this?

Wonder how could be? An early Breakthrought in the MMC? that way we can get a game that technical level early(not even the Disk System would have run it to begin with) that is an start. if anything means Doki-Doki is even more forgotten

Well maybe Doki Doki will get released outside of Japan, so…

Depends, as say before, Nintendo owns everything sans Imajin and his family, but again if they need a game to pack the release schedule can always invent characters for it...ummmmmm

Given the technology of the NES, I'm not sure an earlier SMB3 is a good idea.

As for your changes as they are, having four players in this game is a good idea, and I can see Toad being unlocked after going to the first Toad House, while Peach can be playable in a New Game Plus type of story.

Now that I think about it, we can still have SMB3 as it is IOTL be the second game, but your ideas for Toad and Peach being playable, and Bowser working for the true enemy, should be saved for TTL's SMB3.

Just my own two cents here.

Well, that was believable, but what does TTL’s SMB3 look like?

For that, please take a look...

One day, while celebrating the end of Bowser's capturing, a new enemy entered Peach's turf. It just so happens that this new enemy is a French materialistic rabbit named Madame Broode, who kidnaps Peach to be her modeling slave for her lavish endeavors.

Mario and Luigi immediately jump into action, while Toad reopens his Item Shops whenever they may need them. As such, you can give him the option to become the Player 3 of this game. This won't be easy, though, as Madame Broode also has her working staff, the Broodals, as bosses for each world.

Speaking of Toad, there is an option for him to become their Player 3 once you reach the second Toad House in the game. Not only that, but after completing World 5, Peach somehow saves herself by tricking Madame Broode into letting her go, by asking if she can take a bathroom break. You see, Madame Broode actually cares about giving her models enough to live. It might be the bare essentials necessary, but she does care.

From then on, you can play as either Mario, Luigi, Toad, or Peach for Worlds 6-8, including the boss battles, which also includes the battle against Madame Broode herself. In fact, if you do this as Peach, she'll get even angrier at her than the other three of them.

Once you go to Broode's hangout, you'll actually see Bowser guarding it, who contracted the Broodals to kidnap Peach in exchange for her ownership after she models for them. Which is ironic, given how you can make Peach's playthrough more awkward by having her go straight past him when he least expects it.

Finally, Madame Broode appears, and after harming her three times on the head, she collapses and gives the deed to Peach back to the four of them.

After that, the celebrations can continue. And, as an added bonus to finishing as Peach, Bowser enters the castle asking for forgiveness and to genuinely befriend them for once. They begrudingly agree to this, on the condition that Bowser can't directly kidnap the princess ever again. He agrees to this, and they're all right as rain now.

Due to the ending being like that, this explains why Bowser is almost always part of the spinoffs, like Mario Kart and Mario Party.

What do you think?

What do you think?
Impressive! Now how will the rest of the Super Mario series go?

Ok, and looks like it’s today. Got the ideas?
Okay. Since you asked...

1: Super Mario World 1 and 2 would be the same, as would the Super Mario Land games.
2: However, because of relevancy's sake, Madame Broode would take Donkey Kong Jr.'s place in Super Mario Kart as an ultra-heavy racer. This should outright confirm that she and the other Broodals are the same as the ones from Super Mario Odyssey, just placed in a much earlier game.
3: She would also be a fixture as the main boss in the first four Mario Party games, showing that she never quits on being a villain. This also results in Bowser being a playable character in Mario Party since the beginning, a direct result of the final ending in Super Mario Bros. 3
4: The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, the cartoon series based on the show, would actually have a first episode that takes place after the second celebration in the game, with King Koopa and the Koopalings being friends of Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Toad. This means that the Broodals would be resurrected for this series, thus making this particular series a sequel to that game.
5: Likewise, the Super Mario World adaptation would have Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, and Bowser sucked through a time portal to Dinosaur Land, home of the Yoshies. No Oogtar or other Flintstones-esque cavepeople in this show.
6: Did I say that Super Mario World 1 would be the same? Well, I did, except for the main antagonist role going for Tatanga instead, with him kidnapping Peach after Mario stopped him from kidnapping Princess Daisy, the plotline of the first Super Mario Land game.
7: Also, due to it being a prequel, Bowser would be the antagonist of Super Mario Land 2, but that role would be given to Kamek as of Yoshi's Story.
8: Finally, because of Bowser's change of heart into a Jerk with a Heart of Gold, his playability status in Super Mario RPG is not changed. If anything, he makes a potshot at how he isn't really the final battle in this game, which keeps his battle at the start of the game intact.

How are these ideas?

Sounds fair.
