How would Cambodia have looked under a more liberal and tolerant Khmer Rouge gov't in which neither Pol Pot or his faction had NOT dominated

Pol Pot himself must have been seriously batshit. Even the Great Leader didn't try to turn the clock back to the year 0. I have wondered if Kheiu Samphan [sic?] had been in charge, would things have been any better? I confess, I don't know that much about it.
