One of those late 19th C, books that tried to look into the future and see what the next war would be, of interest for actually using the phrase 'Great War' at one point and for featuring a France-Russia vs Germany, Austria, Italy the Ottomans & Great Britain conflict. Quite a few names familiar from late-Victorian British military history turn up in unexpected contexts and the spark, someone tries to kill a Balkans Prince (Just not that Prince.)...
So not strictly alternative history, but it could prove the basis of one.
