The Death of Russia - TL

In The Death of Russia, how differently would Russian history be taught in Western schools? How would the Nuclear Holocaust be regarded in relation to Russia's Imperial/White and Soviet past?
Surely saying something about the "inherently evil nature of Russian state" and portraying the Nuclear Holocaust as "logical consequence of building a nation goberned through terror and mass deaths"

@Sorairo Just wondering but what became of the Console Wars between Sega and Nintendo because the Second Russian Civil War?
Second Great Video Game crash - in the Depression the video games were the first thing to write off so Sega went the way of Atari - Nintendo survived in a limited format in Japan while video games only became semi-relevant again by the mid-00s. Microsoft never entered the market and so the market is even more dominated by East Asia. Playstation got pushed back a few years because Sony wasn't insane enough to release it when the market was imploding.

How about the dotcom bubble as well as the tech landscape?

That makes sense. Although the interesting effect would be Computer graphics technology being neglected by mainstream entertainment, as I doubt Pixar survived the Second Great Depression long enough to release Toy Story.

Everything popped from 1994-1996, there was not enough liquidity in the market post 4/10 to support any kind of bubble.
So, some embattled companies like airlines would be suffered enough to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy protections unless they were helped to bail out during the 1994-96 economic crisis?

Since the Red Wedding was based on a dream he had ol' George might have had a different one and ASoIaF might be different and shorter.
How would a dark, nihilistic story about a multi-factional civil war have been received by audiences in the aftermath of the 2nd RCW?

Probably poorly, unless there were enough bright spots to make it more palatable. Also I doubt Martin would be able to use as much shock horror to show how bad his bad guys are.

In TLDR, would Russia be regarded in the same way that Prussia is today? And with the Soviet Empire/Union and NSF Russia utterly disgraced by Anpilov and the Petrograd Council and the subsequent restoration of the Romanovs, how would the old Russian Empire of 1721-1917 and the White movement/Army be seen in this TL?

Most likely there'd be a lot of focus on how the Empire was already industrializing and how there were already reforms in place (which had of course been overturned, but hey, details) while the White Army would probably be white-washed into fighters for democracy, with their defeat a tragic event, which doomed Russia to Communism and laid the groundwork for the Second Russian Civil War.

Basically, those two would be seen as "they weren't the best, but they were hella better than anything that came after and if given more time could've made a positive change."

Honestly I’d say that there’d be far more appetite for optimism. Romantic fantasy like Misty Lackey, Star Trek etc. Optimistic but with an edge: that some things are worth fighting for no matter the cost.

On that note, Prince Lvov and Alexander Kerensky would be seen as people who could have steered Russia towards a better path if not for the Bolsheviks and maybe stuff like how the SRs won the most seats in the Constituent Assembly and all that could be emphasized in historiography of the Russian Civil War as well. OTOH, the Germanic component of the old empire’s elite, with how a lot of the Russian Empire’s elite were Baltic German nobles, could be emphasized as well ITTL, if only to sell the narrative of the era of the Romanovs as the most “Western” Russia got.

Star Trek

Star Trek did make mention that while the 20th century was full of strife that ended with the death and displacement of many hundreds of millions of people, it did give way for greater cooperation which allowed for peace and prosperity.

I'd say that this form of optimism would be greatly appreciated, especially if Star Trek does go on to be continued with a series like TNG in the late 1980s.

Speaking of, I wonder if between Start Trek TOS and TNG the writers ITTL would "update" or retcon the backstory to include events like the Second Russian Civil War and 4/10.

This kind of retconning has happened, recently Star Trek: Picard did retcon their history to add recent "Chat only" events.

Bonjour.
La traduction automatique didn't work, just letting you know

Perhaps you haven't noticed but we use English there.
