The Campaign Trail Game Has Returned.

Won a 2012 campaign with Obama-Biden on Normal, and apparently, I did better than approximately 100.0% of the games that have been played with Obama in Normal:

Played a Humphrey/Harris ticket on Easy, aiming for a huge landslide, and that’s what I got. Basically everything went right for me - Nixon refused to debate, I successfully exposed him on sabotaging the peace talks. I almost won Colorado and Montana too.

Big Carter win on "normal" -- 438 EV to 100 -- mostly due to good luck, being appropriately apologetic during scandals, and some effective regional campaigning. Glenn was my running mate. Better than 98.2% of the games played.

Pretty decent Dukakis '88 win on normal. Messed up on the debates, but swapped between being a liberal and a pragmatic Democrat. 50-48.

Does anyone know how to win 1976? I keep losing, despite playing multiple games with both Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter.

Edit: I tried hardcore liberal Jimmy Carter with a semi-hawkish foreign policy and won. That seems a bit beyond the pale for the political situation in 1976, but alright.

Carter is pretty easy. Pick Glenn as the VP, and try to be moderate and non-committal on everything. Your advisers will complain about you not taking sides, but ignore them.

Ford is tough. Pick Baker as the VP, throw some red meat to the conservatives whenever possible (except on foreign policy and Humphrey-Hawkins), and hang out in the Mid-West (or else camp out in New York). Take the debate, but you have a 2/3 chance of a gaffe - which is annoying but not fatal.
