How could the Kings of Aragon and the Counts of Barcelona sought after Septimania. I wonder why Septimania was lost permanently to the French in the 1200's. I wonder why they felt that it wasn't their best interest to look after that territory. I wonder what happened along the way? Why wasn't Septimania at the sight of the Kingdom of Aragon or other kingdoms thereafter? How did the ruling class have amnesia over that territory?
