Saturday Morning AU Blocks

Hey @ByzantineSage191, you can post your Kid’s WB Saturday morning lineup for the 2022-2023 season here.
Alrighty.

Kid's WB 2022 - 2023 Season Lineup:
- 9:00AM - 9:30AM: OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes
- 9:30AM - 10:00AM: Teen Titans Go
- 10:00AM - 10:30AM: Justice League Action
- 10:30AM - 11:00AM: Ben 10 (2016)
- 11:00AM - 11:30AM: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2021)
- 11:30AM - 12:00PM: She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018)

POD(s):
- The WB nabs the broadcasting rights to MLB in 1996
- The WB launches it's national evening news program, First Evening Post in 2001
- In the same year the WB begins simulcasting CNN Daybreak
- The WB picks up Firefly after FOX cancels it, afterwhich it becomes the highest-rated show in the network's history
- The Trump Administration repeals the Children's Television Act in 2018, essentially leaving networks and advertisers free to go ham and more or less reviving Saturday morning cartoons. However, most simply rerun existing programs

I like the action-centric lineup, but the last two are from DreamWorks.......

Now that's something to make the network survive.

Cool.
- The WB picks up Firefly after FOX cancels it, afterwhich it becomes the highest-rated show in the network's history
Even higher-rated than Smallville and Supernatural?
- The Trump Administration repeals the Children's Television Act in 2018, essentially leaving networks and advertisers free to go ham and more or less reviving Saturday morning cartoons. However, most simply rerun existing programs
You know, that would actually be a cool thing to happen.

Is this for a TL of your's?

If so, then I'd love to help you out. I already really like your adult cartoon ideas.

ITTL Netflix turned down both shows, so after some searching Dreamworks made a deal with Warner Brothers to air He-Man and She-Ra on Cartoon Network, hence why it ended up on this revived Kid's WB.
Even higher-rated than Smallville and Supernatural?
Yes, which is another reason why The WB survived ITTL

No, I just felt the need to concoct a reason as to why Kid's WB exists in 2023. I'm not really interested in making my own TL since I mostly use this site to unwind, and making a TL would be a pretty big commitment. Feel free to use any of my ideas, though

I do appreciate the lineup as is. An hour to DC Comics, an hour to Cartoon Network originals, and an hour of DreamWorks reboots. Surprisingly balanced.

As for why I'm not that angry about two DreamWorks shows in place of more WB-owned shows, the first two seasons of their initial Dragons cartoon aired on CN, and the 2002 He-Man reboot was part of Toonami's Friday afternoon lineup.

However, what I am upset about is why there hasn't been any new inclusions since 2021. You'd think some fresh blood would have come by now, either by WB or DreamWorks.
POD(s):
- The WB nabs the broadcasting rights to MLB in 1996
That's the end of the Fox Network's success story.
- The WB launches it's national evening news program, First Evening Post in 2001
And that's the end of UPN's rivalry with The WB.
- In the same year the WB begins simulcasting CNN Daybreak
By this point, The WB is the real contender for "fourth network" status.
- The WB picks up Firefly after FOX cancels it, afterwhich it becomes the highest-rated show in the network's history
Moreso than Buffy, 7th Heaven, or Smallville? Wow.
- The Trump Administration repeals the Children's Television Act in 2018, essentially leaving networks and advertisers free to go ham and more or less reviving Saturday morning cartoons. However, most simply rerun existing programs
If that actually happened, I would legit have a good reason to remember the Trump Administration. And that's insane.

Great lineup! Very interested to see what lineups you'll make in the future.

Ok.

Nice, so, does TTL's equivalent of The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest last longer?

Also, when is Tickle-U launched?

Okay, if they got their own network, then what's up with the Universal cartoons?

Overall, other than NIMH and maybe Stickin' Around and Sam and Max, I wouldn't pay no attention to NBC on SatAM.

Surprised at the var................

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!DBZ ON CBS!!!!!!

But why at 7AM!!!!?????

Umptee-3 and Princess Sissi would be far more fitting at 7AM.

And why not air a FULL hour of DBZ rather than both installments at the same time?

This is cool, but WHY is Evangelion on that early?

I think action shows work better later in the morning....

And yeah, do you want Batman and Superman to fail?

And why is it...........Oops, nevermind.......

And I'm sure that Road Rovers only lasted a season for a reason.......Hey, that rhymes!

Cool, but are The Lost Upstairs, Safari Adventure and Playplace about?

And why is the action cartoons on so late?

And I'm surprised to see an Epmation show on SatAM.

Cool. And I'm REALLY digging those last two hours!

Wow................

It must took some real dedication.

Cool.

Those sound interesting.

Cool, but f Epcot is the mature part of Disney, then why is Gargoyles on BVB's SatAM block?

Cool.

What?

Right, but still, I'd probably never really watch NBC.

Exactly. And they're not gonna be very successful in those slots?

Right.

Yep.

Every kid in America and every cartoon fan ITTL finna eat hella good!

Basically, here's what I'd watch:

ABC: The New Adventures of Jonny Quest, Dexter's Lab, Mina and the Count
NBC: Sam and Max
CBS: Dragon Ball Z/GT, Jumanji, Extreme Ghostbusters, Men In Black, Beast Wars: Transformers, Reboot, Goosebumps
The FW: Looney Tunes, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Evangelion...........Batman, Superman, Power Rangers
BVB: Gargoyles, Hulk, Spider-Man
UPN: Ren and Stimpy, Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, KaBLAM!, Zelda, Star Fox, Mario, Donkey Kong

So all in all, I'd watch UPN for my #1 choice, then KidxBox for #2.

You did a beautiful job!

You did good @THEKINGFISH217.
@THEKINGFISH217 you there?

1. Admittedly, I didn't do much research for HiT Entertainment, but i told you that the schedule would be different for the actual TL.
2. Tickle-U is launched in 1997, when Atlantic (ABC/Turner together) gets the rights to Thomas & Friends.
3. I should move Dragon Ball to a different time on CBS.
4. The Lost Upstairs is a fantasy show about a group of kids that discover the balcony of an upstairs they can't access in their house, and that leads to an alternate world.
5. I'm glad you like my schedule!!

1. Admittedly, I didn't do much research for HiT Entertainment, but i told you that the schedule would be different for the actual TL.
Well, an earlier and bigger start for HiT isn't too bad, since those particular shows are at least a few years old by 1997.
2. Tickle-U is launched in 1997, when Atlantic (ABC/Turner together) gets the rights to Thomas & Friends.
Got it.
3. I should move Dragon Ball to a different time on CBS.
No, duh! But seriously, even with more lax restrictions, I'm not sure how Dragon Ball could air at 7 AM on a non-independent station.
4. The Lost Upstairs is a fantasy show about a group of kids that discover the balcony of an upstairs they can't access in their house, and that leads to an alternate world.
Interesting.
5. I'm glad you like my schedule!!
Thank you.

Great lineups!

Where did you originally posted this?

Also, I have two questions about these schedules:
  1. Is CBS still owned by Paramount ITTL?
  2. Will you be continuing it to the present?

alternate FoxBox launch schedule, for if they launched WITH their existing shows previously on KWB

8 AM: Cubix: Robots for Everyone (E/I)
8:30 AM: Fighting Foodons
9 AM: Kirby: Right Back at Ya!
9:30 AM: Pokemon
10 AM: Pokemon (fall)/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (winter)
10:30 AM: Ultimate Muscle
11 AM: Yu-Gi-Oh!
11:30 AM: Ultraman Tiga

10 AM: Pokemon (fall)/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (winter)
10:30 AM: Ultimate Muscle
11 AM: Yu-Gi-Oh!
11:30 AM: Ultraman Tiga
That could have been a great launch schedule. Heck, this would have been a year early for Cubix, and four years sooner for Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters.

Still, I question what could have happened to Kids WB! in this scenario:

Saturdays:
8 AM: Baby Looney Tunes (E/I)
8:30 AM: What's New, Scooby-Doo?
9 AM: Jackie Chan Adventures
9:30 AM: Ozzy and Drix
10 AM: Stargate Infinity (Fall) / The Cramp Twins (Winter)
10:30 AM: Mucha Lucha!
11 AM: The Mummy: The Animated Series (Fall) / MegaMan: NT Warrior (Summer)
11:30 AM: X-Men: Evolution

Weekdays:
3 PM: Rescue Heroes (Monday) / Scooby-Doo (Tuesday-Friday)
3:30 PM: Jackie Chan Adventures
4 PM: The Mummy: The Animated Series (Fall) / Static Shock (Winter)
4:30 PM: The Powerpuff Girls (Fall) / Various Programming (Winter)

As a result, the promotional stunt weeks and "Zany Insaney April" would show up at 4:30 instead of 3:30 ITTL.

Yeah, I'd concede to Fox Box on this duel. In the world where they took their existing stuff with them, what was once Fox Kids would be the new home for Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Cubix, plus shows like Kirby, Ultimate Muscle, Ultraman Tiga, and the first animated TMNT reboot a few months later.

Meanwhile, the biggest draws Kids WB! would have are Scooby-Doo, Jackie Chan Adventures, X-Men: Evolution, Mucha Lucha!, and The Cramp Twins replacing Stargate Infinity. And those last two are probably longshots, while MegaMan: NT Warrior would have to wait until May.

Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Kirby, Ultimate Muscle, and the '03 Ninja Turtles. Up against Scooby-Doo, Jackie Chan, a more somber X-Men cartoon, and their big midseason pickup is The Cramp Twins.

Kids WB would be toast.

I‘m thinking…

WEEKDAYS
3 PM: Scooby-Doo
3:30 PM: The Powerpuff Girls (?)
4 PM: Jackie Chan Adventures
4:30 PM: X-Men Evolution

SATURDAYS
8 AM: Rescue Heroes: Global Response Team (E/I)
8:30 AM: What’s New, Scooby-Doo?
