Yes the USA is just like it usually is, the Soviet Union is now the Sovereign Union, and China is liberalized and just like the ROC.
How's this?

I would be seriously grateful if you made the full achievement; those sound like the perfect accoutrements to go with it. As for the compartment, maybe carry the theme still further with a field of digitalis--IE, foxglove? (The fact that it's poisonous also makes sense considering the kind of people the rulers tend to be.)
Well, it took me a bit longer than I hoped, but here's the full achievement. A few points:
  • The shield is the one I gave you earlier;
  • The supporters are both white foxes, as is the crest, as it seemed to me that this was the most important part of your 'back story';
  • The dexter supporter holds a bow, since you mentioned the fox as a kind of 'Robin Hood' figure;
  • The sinister supporter holds a trident, in keeping with the 'also a maritime power' theme from the ship in the shield;
  • Foxglove as requested in the compartment;
  • Motto in the compartment in keeping with English heraldry; if you'd prefer it above as in Scottish heraldry then I could change it (given a few days).
I'll need a few days more to work out what the blazon for the full achievement would be, sorry.

I can't upload the full-size version so this is a 50% version (925x679px). If you want the full-size version (1850x1358px, 1.5MB), let me know and I'll pm you a dropbox link.

Also, here's another version, since Royal Arms are often engraved on stone:

New Requests for my Washington Burns TL

1) Flag for the short lived "Confederation of American States," which was the "rebel" group during the alt-Civil War, from 1859-1862. Centered in New England, the flag is described in-Timeline as "an inverted Betsy Ross design of blue stripes and a red field with 8 stars in a circle."

2) Flag of the equally short lived "Republic of Dixiana", 1907-1908, centered in what is OTL Colorado, Kansas, and Nebraska (ITTL Dixiana, Metropotamia, and Platte), during the last rising of the Dixians after the election of America's first Liberal Party candidate. This flag is described in-Timeline as, "mirroring the so called “star and bars” flag used by the State of Dixiana, except that the blue square in the upper canton of the flag has become a blue circle still on the left hand side of the flag but not on the edge, and the single star has been replaced with the “eye of providence” that is on the reverse side of the Great Seal of the United States."

3) Republic of Japan, established in 1909 following a decade-long civil war. From 1870-1899, Japan was ruled indirectly by the British, with certain cities under direct British rule but the Emperor still nominally on the throne (but a British puppet). In 1899, when Queen Victoria I was assassinated, Japan broke away, but quickly fell into civil war. Pro-western liberal democrats emerged victorious in the end.

Also, @AlternateMan, would you be able to edit that alt-Canada (Borealia) flag that you created, switching the tree out for the northern star? I love the colors and set up overall :)

Thanks!

3. For this I'd just use the regular Japanese flag.

So, while #1 is a good flag, it really doesn't go with the design as stated (being an inverse of the betsy ross flag). The St. Andrew's cross design really isn't a rebel symbol in the TL.

#2 @Miner pretty much got this one pat.

#3 PERFECT!

As for the alt-Canada flag, this was the type of star I meant

HMM. So, the design for #1 isn't what I'd intended (basically, it would have been the same as the OTL Betsy Ross flag, but with blue stripes and a red field in the upper canton with 8 stars.....but this design you made is growing on me.

The #2 flag you made is spot on. Though I wonder for simplicity's sake if the eye should be more simple and stylized?

That...is incredible! Seriously, I'm blown away, thanks so much! I would love the fullsize version, though you've already gone above and beyond. (Just at the right time, too, thank you for lifting my mood!)
As promised, here's the blazon for the full achievement:
Escutcheon Per fess undy Or and Azure, a three-masted galley Argent her sails furled, on each mast a shield displaying a fox mask Sable, on the chief dexter a castle Gules to the sinister thereof a fox sustaining Argent langued Gules and armed Or; for a Crest, upon the Royal helm, with gorget emblazoned with a fox mask, the Royal crown Proper, a fox head Argent couped langued Gules; Mantling Vert and Or; for Supporters, two foxes (Vulpes vulpes) Argent langued Gules and armed Or and crowned with the Royal crown Proper, that to the dexter supporting a longbow Proper, that to the sinister supporting a trident Proper, both on a mount Vert set with five sprigs of foxglove Purpure slipped and leaved Vert; Motto Videmus, Audimus, Agunt.

Rough translation:
Shield: split in two horizontally with a wavy line gold above and blue below, [on the lower part] a white three-masted galley with furled sails, with a shield on each mast containing a black fox's head, in the upper part of the shield on the left [right to the holder of the shield] a red two-towered castle, to the left a white (silver) fox supporting the castle with its paws, with a red tongue and yellow claws;
Crest: a royal helmet (gold, facing forward, barred visor closed) with a gorget (protective neckpiece) with a fox's head on it, topped by the royal crown coloured properly [red velvet, gold, coloured jewels) and on top of that the head of a silver fox with a red tongue;
Mantling (the cloth behind the rest, looks a bit like fancy leaves): green and gold;
Supporters: two silver foxes with red tongues and yellow claws, crowned with the royal crown, the one on the left [right if you're the shield holder] holding a longbow coloured brown for wood, the one on the right holding a trident coloured correctly [brown (wooden) staff, metal prongs], both standing on a green [grassy] mount with five sprigs of foxglove with purple flowers, and green stems and leaves;
Motto: we see, we hear, we do

Note that the blazon for the shield is different from what I gave you previously (in post 5887). Having done a bit more research, the shield blazon on its own is the Escutcheon part of the above, namely:
Per fess undy Or and Azure, a three-masted galley Argent her sails furled, on each mast a shield displaying a fox mask Sable, on the chief dexter a castle Gules to the sinister thereof a fox sustaining Argent langued Gules and armed Or.

Again, to any heralds reading, I'm just an enthusiastic amateur so apologies for the mistakes I'm sure are there!

So, have a few flag requests for my “Washington Burns” TL.

1) A flag for the Union of European Republics, a communist* federation initially created as a union between France, Württemberg, Baden, and Bavaria in 1904, later adding northern Italy, parts of Spain, and Prussia, between 1930-1945. Red banners are still common socialist/communist symbols, but beyond that things could be more open. The “hammer and sickle” of OTL isn’t necessarily going to be the primary symbol of communists ITTL, so feel free to do something different.

2) Kingdom of Borealia (alt Canada, land of the north), established in 1874, consisting of the provinces of Lower and Upper Canada, Michigan, Wisconsin, Rupertia, Columbia, and Vancouver.

3) Federation of Texas. OTL TX, NewMexico, and parts of Colorado, established in the 1830s and 1840s, with heavy German immigration starting in 1839 and coming in several waves since then.
