Request Maps/Flags Here

Heyo; so I was wondering if anyone wanted to throw together a quick flag for the Carolingian Republic from this map. I haven't got any specifics in mind for design, just that I want it to have red, white and gold on the flag. Otherwise, I'd just like to see what people come up with; plain lines, a coat of arms, stylised cross, something different or new altogether given it's the future. Whatever you like really, so long as it looks good and makes sense.

what about this ?

That's pretty great, yeah. But the colours are maybe a bit too vibrant. Aside that, pretty awesome, and the double headed eagle makes sense given it's basically a Franco-German co-dominion. Though, at the same time, if you're willing to have another go at it -I'm trying not to sound ungrateful :coldsweat:- a more modern, sleek and maybe stylized eagle may be better.

Would someone be able to do a Polish Democratic Republic state emblem and flag using soviet/communist symbols (wheat circle, hammer and sickle, red star) and the Polish eagle, perhaps holding the hammer and sickle?

The flag would be entirely red with a thin white stripe along the right side, with the Eagle in a shield, no crown, holding the hammer and sickle in its talons, encircled by the wheat circle, and a red star (outlined in gold) at the top.

The emblem would be simply the circle of wheat, white eagle inside holding the hammer and sickle, a red star at the top, and the red ribbon across the bottom saying "Polska Rzeczpospolita Demokratyczna" and "Польская Демократическая Республика" underneath.

Thanks in advance!

Since the adaptation of The Handmaid's Tale is coming out soon, has anyone ever tried making a map of the Republic of Gilead from the book?

Could you elaborate a bit? I must say I'm interested
Well ideology of this Byzantine is unity of all ideologies that oppose modernist capitalist world so regime is broad alliance of fascists and socialists.Fascists had to forget about their monarchist dreams but socialists had to leave their internationalism. In main line this ideology support syndicalism in big cities and communalism on farms ,and that is what makes it left but there is fascist dictatorship on All-Union level

did you mean more modern as in the modern german eagle ? also if you want less vibrant, red-black-white are probably better then red-gold-white.

From what I remember from a short discussion many years ago, its not clear from the novel if the republic is meant to cover the whole of the US or just part of it. There is mention of baptist guerilla which would indicate that the south is at least occupied by Gilead but that doesn't mean it is meant to be an integral part of it.

Here's something I half saw in a dream if anyone wants to make it.
It was for "Beth-Marie Queen of England and the Strath Scots, [unreadable line], Most Holy [something] of Andaluthie".
It featured 2 helms (with shoulders) as supporters the left being gold with black guilt and the word "sraith" running down a shoulder.
The main shield itself was party per fess, the top half being white with semy of red roses, the bottom being gold with a fretted double tressure in black (it could be said to be a double tressure indented counter-indented), with an escutcheon of a red lozenge with some gold pattern or image. I can't recall what crown only that it wasn't that of OTL St Edward's (imperial) crown.

Wait is the escutcheon a lozenge or does the escutcheon contain an inescutcheon of a lozenge gules? And is the double tressure fret-counter-fret? Also if she has ties to Andalusia, might the gold pattern on the lozenge be a depiction of the Pillars of Hercules?

As I've interpreted it, here is my best attempt (admittedly not the greatest). Used the Scottish crown rather than Edward's.

There seems to be war going on, but they don't mention any specific front lines and seem to describe it much like OTL's Syrian Civil War (maybe we can look at Gilead as an analog for ISIS?). There is a news article about artillery shelling of Detroit, which suggests that city is not under Gilead control. Although there must be some quiet places for Japanese tourists to feel safe in. (FYI: almost done with the book so go easy on spoilers everyone.)

Challenge/Inspiration:

Make a flag for a Rhineland based nation-state, German speaking, near the turn of the century. However, this Rhineland nation must have its past, and thus it's culture, engrained in Rheinlander duchies and other Imperial lands within the Holy Roman Empire vying for the claim. Developing naturally instead of being forged from a treaty with a lasting monarchy at least into the 1800s.

what part of OTL Germany does it include ?

Lower sections of Westphalia, and Hannover, and most of the Prussian Rhine Province.

The seat of power would probably be in Aachen, and it's quite probable it could have some Dutch lands as well at this rate.

since it's not a modern mashup but an old country, what about the wavy bend argent on vert was adopted earlier and the modern flag is a banner of arms of sort:

Nice enough. Kudos on the pillars. The tressures though were essentially single black lines crossing each other. Still is nice to see what I dreamed
