The 27th and final book in the book in The Railway Series titled Really Useful Engines. It was the first and only book in the series to be written by Christopher Awdry, the son of The Railway Series creator Wilbert Awdry.

The book was first published on September 12, 1983, just about two weeks before Doomsday.
