Bro I forgot this existed and thought it was lost forever, until a recent post in Map Thread 21 brought this memory back into my mind. As an atmospheric science major, seeing a tropical cyclone that treks across an entire basin is pretty fucking cool, as factors like dry air intrusion, colder SSTs at higher latitudes, and baroclinic processes will usually kill off a storm within a week. However, if the conditions are perfect then TCs can take advantage of them and last for 2-3+ weeks (or in Cyclone Freddy (2023)'s case 39 days). Wish there were more weather and climate-based TLs on here...
