Is there any TL where Operation Tannenbaum is featured? No matter the result of Axis or Allied victory.

It is a sub-plot in Roger Branfill-Cook's Moment of Destiny: One Day in Oran

Entertaining if not always conceivable story that pushes the Free French to the fore of the naval war.

That invasion is actually one of the few that never gets much attention. Mostly because its pointless and stupid to do.

Obviously any invasion of Switzerland is reckless, morally bankrupt, and could have huge diplomatic, financial, and political consequences, all on top of it happening during a cold war, but would it really have been all that difficult to pull off militarily?

The overwhelming majority of Switzerland's population and industry are situated in the plains and alpine foothills, not the mountains themselves. It seems to me that the invasion would be pulled off quickly and smoothly, excepting the military holdouts in the high alpines (and the destruction of critical tunnels and bridges).

it actually makes sense if the Nazi regime decided against (or delayed) invading the USSR, they could use the tangible gold from Swiss to pay for the things they lagged in bartering for historically. (just guessing they would have less trouble subduing the Swiss than the Soviets?)
