No Spitfire AND no Bf109?

I've found some threads where one or the other is not developed, but not both.

Assuming Willi Messerschmitt falls out with Adolf, Herman et all, does the He112 get better development and engines? Possibly the 110/210/410 line is stillborn. What replaces them? The FW187 Falke looks like a good heavy fighter, but does it have the volume to operate as a radar equipped nightfighter?

I don't wish an early death on Mitchell, so perhaps after the failure of the Type 224 Supermarine decide to concentrate their efforts on flying boats and seaplanes. Does the RAF still want a second fighter to back up the Hurricane. And what future developments follow?

I don't imagine this would have any major effects pre mid 1940. Perhaps some more losses either way. But larger changes during and after any Battle of Britain?

Are the Hurricane and a developed He112 fairly evenly matched? I would think that an up-engined He112 would have a reduced range, on a par with the Bf109. But Falke escorts may have some impact? And what else might be procured for the RAF? Gloster are a Hawker subsidiary, so probably not the F5/34. Boulton Pauls single seat Defiant? An outside chance of a retractable undercarriage Martin Baker MB2? More Whirlwinds? (Imagine Whirlwinds dogfighting Falkes)

And going forward into 1941, the Typhoon and FW190 are probably still being development. But what does Germany do about nightfighters? Still bomber conversions, but is there anything else in the pipeline? Is an earlier proto-He219 possible?

I'd like to think that if Martin Baker (who always seem to me more like a design bureau than a manufacturer?) get their day in the sun, we might see the MB5 in action.

Without the Bf 109 ever being conceived, the He 112 probably remains with it's huge wing? Yes, it gets the DB 601, but performance is much closer to the Hurricane's than what was the case with 109E.
Germany still defeats everything as per OTL, BoB end result is the same, but we might see the Fw 190 receiveng the DB 601/605 in order for the LW fighter force to have a performer ASAP. Until that happens, P-40 is the best fighter in the world. Mustang is an even greater surprise, both for the British and the Germans, even before it receives the Merlin.

Falke - if it happens - has more than enough on it's plate to cover for mediocre-performing He 112s, so even more Do 17s/215s and Ju 88s are taking over the night fighting force. Granted, if Falke is in mass production, the Fw 190 might never see the light of the day. The He 100 with 'normal' cooling might also happen, Luftwaffe needs an 1-engied performer, the 2-engined types are not economically viable.

One thing that needs to be considered is that the RAF will want a partner for the Hurricane. They never had just one type of fighter in service per aircraft generation in the interwar years. Bristol is fully committed with other projects, Martin Baker too small for mass production, Gloster are part of Hawkers (who don't want the competition) and Vickers only has the Venom which has no real potential for development. I really think the oft proposed single seat Defiant would be the best option.
