No. Debs was a revolutionary socialist, not a social democrat. Don't vote for him for the wrong reasons. I'm only supporting him because I believe extremely radical change is needed at this point in American history.

"Revolution by the ballot, not by the bullet." He was a particularly radical democratic socialist, not a revolutionary socialist.

That's what I meant. I was trying to say that he never would have endorsed "social capitalism" as you claim.

I don't give a crap I'm never voting for a Dixiecrat. Also the Democratic Party at this time was controlled by populists and racists I just finished studying the presidential campaigns in the 1900s I don't agree with a lot of their ideas personally.

...Debs isn't a Democrat, he's a Socialist, and he's from Indiana, not the South.

Now, even those of you with the whole "socialism sucks etc." thing have to admit something. And that is that TR, when he was President IOTL, along with instituting the first real federal campaign finance reform, and trust-busting, waged the Philippine War, which caused at least 200,000 civilian deaths, many by scorched earth campaigns. What's worse is that this was a war purely to protect American self-interest.

How can you, with the benefit of foresight, vote for Teddy Roosevelt?
