Also...how are there "united emirates" in the Sinai? What caused people to, you know, live there? IOTL the Sinai at this time was maybe a few thousand Bedouin.
Sicily is certainly Norman-lead, but still majority Italian.
The Sinai, being the frontlines of the First Crusade, was heavily inflexed by jihading Muslims, most of which decided to settle down indefinitely. As well as that, the network of Forts and Walled areas (Denoted by gray Lines, i forgot to mention...) need manning. Since the Fatimids think that the Alexandrians are the greater current threat, they have let the forts and nomads become self governing. Severel "Emirs" have taken command of various areas, sections of trade route, etc., though they all are still united, and the line between being an ally and being part of the Caliphate is thin.
