Well there would likely be another million Vietnamese people. Maybe a smart US administration could make it an Asian Yugoslavia (as in communist neutral not collapsing with ethnic tensions). Plus there might have been less brutality.

Probably not, look how Uncle Ho's 'Land Reform' turned out, then stretch that to all Vietnam, with all the Catholic population trapped.
Collective Farms across the whole country means that Vietnam would no longer be a Rice exporter.

Positive, at least initially. Without Chinese aid the Vietnamese communists would not have been capable of offensive moves.
Butterflies make it hard to predict how the party itself evolves. This evolution would decide how Vietnam operates during the Sino-Soviet split.
Kennedy ran to Ike's right on the Cold War in 1960. "Losing" Vietnam would just be one more thing JFK uses as a talking point along with the "Missile Gap."
