How would you fix Sliders?

One episode that would have been funny is to have the group land in Golden Gate Park, a traffic cop shows up, and starts to write them a ticket. When asked, she points at a sign that says GOLDEN GATE PARK IS A NO SLIDING ZONE. She ends up giving them tickets for "Sliding without a liscence", "Unliscened Sliding device", and "Operating a Sliding Device w/out proof of insurance". In this world, Quinn's father and Max Arturo invented Sliding in the 1970's. They went on to build a large corporation. Later, as they are leaving the part, a limo pulls up, and the driver is perplexed. He was told to pick them up at the Chandler Hotel.
Hmm...not bad.

If I was able to reintroduce Sliders, my pilot would take place in two different, but similar worlds.

Earth A: For lack of a better place, our world. Pretty much the same timeline, with maybe a few very small changes. Home of Quinn Mallory (A), Prof. Maximillion Arturo, Wade Wells, and Rembrant "Crying Man" Brown.

Earth B: Same as ours, up to 2000, where Jeb Bush was elected President of the US, but Bob Dole had been Reagan's Vice-President. Home of Quinn Mallory (B), his brother Colin, Col. Maggie Beckett, and Dr. Diana Davis.

In both worlds, the Quinns where working on anti-grav experiments. Quinn A was doing it as a hobby, and Quinn B as part of a new type of Stealth Fighter. They fired them up at the same time, and where fused into one person. The side-effect is that A brought along Prof. Arturo, Wade, and Rembrant; and B brought along Colin, Maggie, and Diana. They all land on a third version of Earth, which will become their base of operations. The fused Quinn can find and open portals(wormholes).

The villan would be Logan St. Clair, whose Earth is under the fist of a facist corporate state. She wasn't sucked in, but was the cause of the event. She, and her followers travel the on an large, omni-terrain base; picture something like the SHIELD Heli-carrier, but with ground movenment capiblity.

Here's An IDea..

What if there was a threat that was more intelligent threat than the KroMaggs...

Try to imagine, after a few episodes before or after "Post Traumatic Slider Syndrome", every now and then Quinn starts seeing people who look vaguely familiar at every site they go to. Wade, Arturo, and Rembrandt begin to doubt his sanity, until they start encountering the same people...

The scary twist is this, the "Other" are sliders as well, unfortunately they are trying to recreate the means whereby their world died. They are a group of people who suffered a disaster that destroyed their civilization and they were the ones "Left Behind". They feel that the "End Times" had come, but they were left behind because they failed in some way. They believe the only way to join theeir friends and loved ones is to correct "what once went wrong..."
