Franco-British Union vs PRC-American Alliance

In a timeline where the Korean War does not occur and the US is willing to recognize the PRC as Dean Acheson wanted and help hand over Taiwan, could the Franco-British Union form during the aftermath of the Sues crisis because the US is more focused on Asia?

The long-term issue is that France-Britain must depend on her colonies/dominions. If Britain is the senior partner a Dominion of Algeria is salvageable
Also why not convert remaining MidEast protectorates into Dominions? Dominion of Aden and Hadramaut

If China is allied with the US from the mid-50s onward, does it give up any plans of supporting insurgencies in the European colonies? Because I can't really see them backing groups that are rebeling against the USA's NATO allies.

Insurgencies in Burma?

Assuming a Franco-British Union could keep a handle on their various colonies (a tall order without some form of federation or other extensive reform) the Chimerica alliance would have a far larger and more concentrated population and industrial capacity. The FBU would have access to greater resources in total but it would be so far flung that it would be pretty simple for the US-China alliance or the Soviet sphere to disrupt supply lines. In any case the number of Cold War proxy conflicts would probably escalate literally everywhere.
